Xbox One X screen resolution issue. Cannot view full video output with magnifier off

So my father recently purchased an Xbox One X for himself. I think he has a 50" Samsung Smart HDTV. For some reason upon booting the Xbox One X, the resolution is about double the size of the actual screen, leaving the left, top, right, and bottom edges
cut off by far. This has resulted in the issue that you cannot physically change the screen settings.. because the settings panel is off the left edge of the screen.

Anyone have some hints?

It sounds like you may have switched on the magnifier, to turn this off can you please try pressing and holding the Xbox button down on the controller to bring up the power off screen (controller will vibrate) then press the view button to switch the magnifier
off.

Xbox screen stuck on zoom (not tv)

With the Xbox One if you press and hold the power button on the controller until it vibrates and brings up the power off screen then press the view button on the controller activates and deactivated the magnifier on the console.

Try different HDMI ports/cables on the TV to see if it produces the same results.

Most likely the solution is you'll have to navigate to the TV settings (with your TV remote) and adjust picture settings related to "overscan" or "zoom".

It looks like you have activated the magnifier. To switch this off press the Xbox Button on the controller until it brings up the switch off menu (controller will vibrate) and then press the view button on the controller to switch the magnifier off.

If you have a Xbox One S or regular Xbox One, these are limited to 1080p output during gameplay.

Only on 4K capable consoles can you get higher resolutions.

As for the display only being a tiny square on your screen: Check the Acer's on-screen menu settings for zooming non-native resolution images to full screen.
