    Xbox one X: Screen keeps going blank every few seconds when in 4k mode


    So, I bought the Xbox one and all was great until I switched to the 4k resolution in settings. It shows up just fine but then every few seconds the signal refreshes itself, causing everything to go blank momentarily but then it's back and does it again after
    a few seconds. I've unplugged and rebooted everything and it still persists. Interestingly the refresh is even occuring during the Xbox boot sequence. However if I switch back to 1080p everything is fine. My TV is a Sceptre 4k, so it is a cheap one but it
    supports 4k at 60hrtz, HDMI 2.0 with hdcp 2.2, only thing it doesn't have is HDR. I have a Chromecast ultra that has no issues with 4k.

    I tried another HDMI and it's the same. My best guess is it's either an Xbox one X driver/hardware issue or somehow compatibility with my off- brand 4k tv. If anyone has any insight that would be great! Thanks in advance.

    ultra has no issues. I need to test it on another 4k tv to see if it's the Xbox or my cheapass tv. I hate to have to buy a new TV and that not work.

    Blank Screen / Freeze using Xbox Assist Tips

    Xbox One X (out of box) with latest update: Blank screen or freeze for the following:

    Xbox Assist -> Tips -> Get Started -> Optimize your Xbox. Blank Screen. Cannot return to home screen. Xbox button only allows you to turn off console.

    Other features working. Apps working with 4K to Sony TV.

    Hey there xxEmu2011xx.

    When you visit System > Settings > Display & Sound and visit Advanced video settings > 4K TV details, do you see any red X's or errors? Curious to see if there is any compatibility issues with your TV.

    I changed the colour settings from 12 bit to 10 bit and that seems to have solved the problem for me

    Having this exact same issue. Trying to avoid entering into the lengthy repair process and possibly losing my Project Scorpio edition.
