Xbox One X (Scorpio edition) Power Shut down unexpectedly

My son had bought a brand new Xbox One X and been using like couple of weeks. Then one day while he was playing, it unexpectedly shut down after a "pop" sound and went dead completely. He tried to turn it back on but to no avail. No other physical evidence
noted. There was no burnt smell - usually it follows when there is an electrical power surge. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

Now he went to request for a replacement since its still under warranty. But thats been like over 3 weeks ago. Microsoft agreed for a replacement and will send out a courier at their cost.

However, nothing happen. Thats where I contacted their help service online. After quoting the work service number for their tracking purposes, they had not yet prepared the necessary procedures nor shipping label and the courier name contact and date/time
to the pick up details.

Another few days elaspe and still its them still checking into it.

What frustrates me that its taking way too long and no replies on the progress. I am being left hanging out cold.

Each time I am told that they are working on it, and honestly thats it!

What is really going on here!!??

Technically speaking, wasn't such issues been filtered out during the product testing before launching it out to the consumers?

Forums I have read focused in to the power rating of the original power cord that comes with the unit. Some tested out with third parties. It actually get the Xbox powered up! They went one step further by switching the two power cords. True enough, the
culprit is the power cord. So if the amperage is not design to be used in a situation whereby the electrical power level might surge beyond the rating, then the unit will not get powered up.

However, this is not proven by the manufacturer and not been officially confirmed. But then I salute those brave gamers that took that risk of trying a suitable power cord, tested and successfully power it up, and officially rendering their warranty of their
Salvaged Xbox One X (Scorpio edition) - void! BRAVO!! YOU ARE HEROS!!

Xbox one x Power issue

My Xbox One x Scorpio addition will not power off using the front power button. I can shut it down using the controller but the button will only power the dvr on. Is this something I should be worried about?
