Xbox One X (Scorpio Edition) just turned off

I have had my console since launch, and Have it on about 4-5 hours a day watching TV, or playing a game. Weekends it is longer since I don't have work. On Sunday I was Playing AC Origins, and at one point the game froze,a nd the console shut off completely.
It turned right back on when I hit the power switch, but it definitely turned all the way off as I had to go through the start up loading screen (i usually have my console on standby).

The console is not loud, and I dont think there is an excessive amount of heat. I am just worried since there is known issues with this edition console. I am not sure if this was a fluke or not. Should I contact warranty, or just
wait to see if this happens again?

Concerns about the reported problems about the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition.

I just purchased an Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition off of Amazon and I'm concerned about the failure rate, heat, fan noise and other problems with Scorpio Xbox One Xs by reading the forums off of Xbox.com and others. I haven't opened up the retail box
yet. Should I return it and get an regular Xbox One X or an 1-2 TB Xbox One S?

Oh My Project Scorpio...

I've being prebook my Project Scorpio two month before the launching on 7 Nov in UAE. After travelling from hometown for one month I did open the box, plugged in the console and everything is fine until suddenly my Scorpio suddenly turned off and unable
to turned on since then.

So, I brought the unit back to reseller but there were no more Scorpio available for one to one exchange. Now, I'm stuck with Xbox One X with standard console (to play for this incoming holidays) and all the pre-booking, waiting and did took some days off
work to play with Scorpio became WASTED! There is no more special privilege feeling of having Xbox One X Project Scorpio limited edition as promoted two month before the launching.

Sad, sad and sad....

 

AC:O seems to be causing the X1X to panic and shut down. Buggy game.

Does this happen with all games or only Assassin's Creed: Origins? Be sure that your console is in an open and well ventilated area, if you have the console sitting vertical try placing it in it's stand to receive sufficient air flow.

 

Im having the same issues with my scorpio - been playing the Ezio Collection and it would freeze then power completely down. I can power it up immediately but it would crash again after 10 to 30 minutes. Originally had it in a power strip, but have since
plugged it in to the wall. Still have the issue but takes longer to happen. Was able to go for 4.5 hours before crashing. I put a thermometer on the top of the console and it was reading 125 degrees... No idea if that's normal. It has plenty of space - 4"
on either side, 6" behind and 2.5" above. I also have not noticed the fan at all...

I think I am going to warranty it but my only concern is that I wont get the scorpio edition as a replacement if they cant fix mine.

 

For those reporting issues in this thread, how many of you have your consoles plugged into a surge protector instead of directly into the wall as directed?
