Xbox One X - Room Mic

Hello Fellow Gamers.

I did have a Xbox with a connect until X came out. I dutifully upgraded and love the Scorpio.

Now to the issue;

I play Halo with 3 other people in the room and other family members join us. We play for the fun and more importantly the banter. The banter is fierce and scathing as we are all family.

Alas, Microsoft saw the need to remove the port for the Kinect, and I am certainly not paying for an adapter because all I need is a microphone.

Can anyone recommend something (Webcam with external mic?) that allow us all to rip the hell out of each other whilst my knees grow weak from all the T-B’ing.

Unfortunately, as the Kinect is no longer manufactured, we would not be able to speculate on the upcoming availability of adapters or where to acquire them directly.

Third party retailers may have the device stocked or may have other options available for the device, but we would not be able to speculate on their pricing.

Along with many of the other updates to the system, 3rd party webcams can work with Xbox One without an adapter and may be a viable and cost-effective solution.

You could also look into purchasing a boom mic like many Streamers use to pick up the room sound if that is what you are looking for.

I had a Xbox One with a Kinect. We have played Halo as a family every Wednesday since the first release of multiplayer on Halo.

We are committed players and the only thing we love more about the games is the banter. Being family and extended family, it gets dark and cutting sometimes.

I got the new shiny Xbox One Scorpio, and found out that there is no connection for the Kinect. I understand that there one an adaptor released when the S game out and was available for a time after the X came out, alas I missed this boat.

So we have been playing in silence for a few months now and need to do something about it.

Is there anything I can purchase that would allow me to use a mic in the room so the 4 of us can all start taking the Michael out of the other players in the group again.

1 Player has no broadband where he lives. So he has driven every Wednesday, on an 80 mile round trip since 2004. That is a lot of miles

2. The oldest player is 76 years old.

Help us Xbox support, your my only hope.

+1 for Multiplayer on a single Xbox again. We needs it.

Hi there,

If all you need is a microphone, you can either get a
headset with a mic, or just a mic.

I have a mini microphone that plugs into the mic jack on my controller. You can search Amazon for 3.5mm Mini Microphone. The one I have says it's for iPhone 3G/ipod/touch/classic. It will look like a large black pill.
