Xbox One X Refuses to Boot. Freezes and Shuts Off Immedietly on Boot

I'm actually glad you mentioned this. I've been having oddities with my external drive so a possible reformat might fix my problem!

Also try this step to try and factory reset the console:

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug the power cord back in.
4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
   
   Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
   
   Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.
   
   You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
5. This should show a menu with the option to factory reset the console, if it does not please try the steps again

The issue turned out to be my Seagate Ext HDD was causing it to crash for whatever reason.

Unplugging it caused the Xbox to work fine, but as soon as I plugged it back in, it would crash again. So, the drive has been reformatted and reset and everything is working again.

I have the same issue, first boot of Xbox one X, start the update, freezed at 1% of download!!!, it never booted up again.

Try to restore keeping games and apps, please be sure that you know your account email and password:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console screen, you'll see three option use this one, be sure you remember the email and password of you're accounts:

Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps
