xbox one x randomly crashing

Apparently although we bought this machine less than a year msoft says its out of warranty. This is against UK law however. Do I have to go the legal route with this or can I talk to an actual person?

First try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Thanks. Tried it again just in case it worked this time. Started up, commenced a game update which was paused, then it froze. Tried to clear local storage, , it completely froze, no screen. We've tried multiple factory resets as well.

My xbox one x keeps randomly crashing. Its unusable. For a £450 machine this is unacceptable. We've reset it numerous times. It doesn't appear to be related to any particular game, just general use. Basically its flaky. It crashes during games, goes
into slow performance, then refuses to turn on. Leave it a bit then it might turn on. Sometimes to says clear local saved content, but when you go the system option, theres no options displayed. Sometime when powered off, it wont display to the screen.
When downloading it continuously freezes. this xbox has already gone back to Microsoft support once, but nothing was fixed. What do I do now?

Hi, I am experiencing exactly the same issue. Tried everything in terms of soft, hard and factory resets, sometimes I get an hour or so usage before it crashes again, even if Fortnite is the only game installed!Console is only 3 months old so the store (Smyths
Toys) won't exchange, MS support say send it to them for repair but that can take 2 to 4 weeks - telling the kids the won't have the console for the rest of the Summer holidays won't go well!

Microsoft, is this a hardware problem or software related, if it is software can we have a patch to fix rather than lose the console for an unnecessary repair? Very disappointing for a £450 console.

Same issue.

Xbox one X crashes only on NBA2K20 (Game pass). Can play other games hours and hours but NBA2K20 crashes randomly, or if I try to play NBA2K20 street mode it immediately crashes (every time).

Once restarted an error code stating overheating is presented on the screen, however, the Xbox is not hot. This also happens after an overnight with the Xbox unplugged, and in the morning trying to get into the street mode: it crashes immediately with the
same error code (no way the Xbox could get heated that fast to crash the machine 2-3 minutes after the first, morning restart).
