    Xbox one x - random shut down and loud fan


    good morning,

    I got a new Xbox one x in February. At first it was great. Went from Xbox 360 to it. Nice upgrade. However about 3-4 weeks after owning it starts sounding like a server with the fan. I’m talking super loud. Never heard that before. Google showed me some
    people with that. I tried doing a chat but the guy kept telling me it must be dirty or something. There is no way.

    Now it’s not only sounding loud but if I play any game that had intense graphics it’ll shut down randomly. Not always but sometimes. And some of those times, about half, will give me a heat error.

    Xbox One X Fan sounds way louder than usual

    Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
    when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.

    Xbox one - Fan still loud after sending it to Microsoft

    I sent my Xbox one to Microsoft a while ago because of a loud fan noise and when I got it back, the fan seemed to be louder! When the Xbox is off, the fan is still running and makes a lot of noise, and then when it is on, the fan gets even louder and sounds
    like buzzing. Even when I shut my console down, the Xbox fan seems to never shut off and can be heard across my room nonstop.

    Heya!

    Happy to help troubleshoot the console issues!

    To be sure, is the console plugged directly into a wall outlet?

    If you are using a power strip, surge protector, or other extension device this can cause issues like this as the console has a built in power supply.

    Does this happen in multiple locations in the house and does this happen with all games or specific ones?

    The xbox rear/back where the fan/heat exhaust is overheating because too close to the wall blocking cooling!

    Turn xbox rear facing the sides/put xbox far distance from the wall, give em room for ventilation.

    I had the same problem. I played Doom Eternal and my console would switch off and the fan would sound very loud before it shut down. I thought it was an issue with the game. But later it happened on Red Dead Redemption 2 and Outerworlds which are Enhanced
    games. I decided to buy a new Xbox One X because sending my Project Scorpio Edition away for repair would have been a hassle. Not only was the new Xbox One X not as loud but it didn't shut down over and over again on. If you ask me you'll have the same problem.
    You either will need it repaired or replaced. Sorry

    What sort of sound are you getting? Just a super loud fan sound, or does it sound like the fan is hitting something? I get a super loud fan on my Xbox One X, but never anything more than that.
