Xbox One X - Random Crashing

Hi all, after a long wait in today for my Project Scorpio Edition of the new console, I have been unable to play the games for any longer than a couple of minutes.

The games I have been trying are all disc based games.

Everytime I start playing it just crashes back to the main screen.

This has happened with multiple games I have tried, both multiplayer online modes and single player story/ campaign modes.

When it crashes back to Dashboard, it also gives a notification for my External HDD which is what happens when I first turn the console on.

This to me shows the console is restarting/ crashing and not just the game.

The External HDD is only picking up when using the front USB port, neither of the rear 2 ports work.

Also the console feels hot after just 5 minutes f use.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I the only person to pay £450 for a day of pure disappointment?

GTA V Freezing

Has anyone that has had this problem tried the GoD copy? I was wondering if there was a problem with it too. I've had random crashing since day one. Got an old Halo 3 xbox working again and it RRD. Now I'm back to the crashing.

 

It isn't just you, there are multiple reports on here and other forums about this. I guess we will have to see what happens here. I personally couldn't get mine to power on for more than a few minutes at first. I was able to do the initial update finally
though and it seems to be working after updating, full power down, unplug and wait a few minutes, then plug into a regular wall outlet (not a surge protector).

I've been having the same issue it has happened to me 3 times since launch of my Project Scorpio. I play for 1 to 1.5 hours then I get a black screen then takes me straight to the dashboard following with the notification on the bottom saying that my "external
storage device is ready"

What is seriously going on? I had to pay $650AU for a crashing console?

 

I am reading replies/ comments about how it is plugged in.

My whole TV set up is plugged in to a 4 bank extension with surge protection, this is basically because it is nowhere near where the plug sockets are in the bedroom.

Are they clutching at straws here to try mute the complaints or could this genuinely be the problem?

Also my External HDD when plugged in the back is receiving power as the light comes on the HDD itself, also I use a lead to power my controller instead of eating through batteries and this works fine.

I will try a Thumb Drive tonight with some pictures on and see if it recognises those

If not, looks like there will be quite a few returns happening

I'm having the same problem every game has crashed to home or causes the entire system to shut down. This is completely unacceptable, I have also had the system completely restart or shutdown just while checking the settings. So it seems I have a 500 dollar
brick from Microsoft. Gg Microsoft Gg.
