    Xbox One X QHD 120hz

I've only just found out that my xbox one x is actually capable of running 1440 at 120hz. However, for some reason, when I try to select 1440 it automatically reduces the refresh rate down to 60hz. Then, when I set it to 120hz, it sets the resolution back
down to 1080. Any ideas why it won't stick at 1440 and 120hz?

I'm running the HP 27xq monitor.

This is a QHD 144hz monitor.

Any help will be appreciated, thank you!

    :)

    Xbox Series X 1440p Monitor

monitor for Xbox Series X at 1440p 120hz. If you have trouble getting 1440p 120hz on the Series X using the provided Microsoft hdmi cable, try switching it with the one that came with the monitor. At first I could not get 120hz using the provided hdmi cable that came with the Xbox, but switched it to the one that came with the monitor and the option for 1440p 120hz finally became selectable.

    Looks like.the monitor is picky

As it has issues with ps5 and series x

Odd it requires a hdmi 2.0 rather then a hdmi 2.1 cable

    Hi

The 120Hz option is only with the console set to 1080P and has been connected to a television that supports 120Hz.

    Hi

But the Xbox official website is written to support QHD 120Hz

    https://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-one/console/adjust-display-settings
    From the link you shared

    • 120Hz is only available for 1080p and 1440p. If you change your resolution to 4K UHD or 720p, the refresh rate will be set to 60Hz by default.

    I have a 1440p 165hz monitor curved and it wont do 1440p at 120hz

    MSI G27CQ4 E2 27" 16:9 Curved 1500R Gaming Monitor, 170Hz 1ms, 2560 x 1440 (QHD), FreeSync Premium

And in the reviews it says its worked for people on both xbox series x and ps5 for 1440p 120hz, it gives me the option but when i click it, it just goes back to 60hz 1440p
