XboX one X Protection

Dear Sir/Mam,

I am from India and i will be turning on my first Xbox One X ever, kindly tell me if i need to take some steps under consideration in order to not Ending up my XBOX 1 X dead.

i read a lot about not to use surge protector and many people ended up dead xbox. so kindly tell me in advance.

Can Xbox one X turn on with a different power surge

Hi, are you asking about surge protection? You should not use surge protectors with the One X or One S, they have multi voltage power supplies (for world wide use) with built in surge protection.

Microsoft has always recommended that you plug the Xbox directly into the wall outlet, since the power supplies in the consoles always had built-in surge protection.

On the other hand, many people plug it into surge protectors or power strips anyway, and mostly have no problem with this. Those who did have a problem usually observed that their Xbox would randomly turn itself on, or at the worst, the console would shut
itself off while playing.

If you ever encounter a problem, you can first try returning it to the store for an exchange. Otherwise, you can always
set up a repair with Microsoft. Any additional assistance, you can contact Xbox Support by
choosing phone or chat.

Hi,

the first generation of xbox one consoles has an overvoltage protection in the power supply. The Xbox one S and X have an overvoltage protection directly built in. so no overvoltage protection is actually necessary anymore. in the past there were probably
also problems in connection with the X and an external overvoltage protection.

There is no resolution right now for this but it has been identified by activision. so they are working on it, must not be a simple fix

The last I heard on it was that there is a similar bug that some experienced with Borderlands 3, where it would trigger the xbox one x's thermal protection and shut the console off to protect it. My positive spin on this is if that is the case at least
the one X is doing its job there and protecting itself!

Hopefully they patch it soon, really frustrating bug
