Xbox one X (project scorpio) turns on then instantly turns off

Thanks for the reply. No need to apologize. I've got to admit, you are much more forgiving than me!! Lol!! I wouldn't spend another dime to buy a new system. I guess it's just a lesson learned. I never really played on it much, was just gonna look
into getting the Game Pass Ultimate since they have the offer of matching any Live Gold subscription period...........lucky it broke down before I invested more money into it.

Insider Beta release mentions this issue about (Netflix).

There is no need to let the console "sit unplugged for an hour", that just prolongs the frustration of not playing,
unless the console is overheated.

Are you able to connect your controller to the console with a play and charge uSB and try to turn the console on using the controller Nexus button?

Are you connected WiFi or wired ethernet cable?

Sorry to see you also got stuck in the same boat with a very expensive hunk of worthless metal and plastic. And I'm even more sorry to say that I wasn't able to find a solution either.

I contacted Microsoft through the chat support system and asked for an exception to the warranty since because this is clearly a manufacturing error. The support person said they couldn't do anything but that they were passing it up to the hardware support
team who should be reaching out within 24 hours to see what they could do. That was...9 days ago. So I think it's safe to say they are not getting back to me.

I ended up having to go buy a new xbox one x since that would actually come with a new warranty. Damned if I was going to spend $250 on a repair (which they should be repairing for free anyways) when it might die again next week/month/year.

All I can say is that I'm seriously disappointed in the xbox support team and in Microsoft in general. Needing two repairs in less than two years due to hardware manufacturing problems in unacceptable. Asking the consumer to bear the financial burden of
their shoddy manufacturing is a whole other level of absurd.

Ive had the exact same problem.

To be honest, i havent used the Xbox one x (project scorpio) much at all. Probably maximum 10 hours of use since Ive bought it. I recently got Forza 6 off ebay so put it in to play today. At first it started installing, but after about 5 minutes it said
i can start playing while it installs the rest of the game. I played about 3 courses and then it just powered off completely...no warning or anything. Since then, ive tried everything. When i press the power button, it will light up for a split second as
well as having the chime, but then gors off straighg away.

Strangely, putting in and disc and ejecting it is fine. But it will power off straight after.

Ive tried looking online and youtube for solutions, but nothing has helped. Did you manage to find a fix? Annoyed that it was a common fault with this model. Never knew of it until now when the warranty has long expired.

The console hadn't been on that terribly long when it died and it does live in a well ventilated part of my entertainment center. It really wasnt that hot either.

That was my thought too to try turning it on with a plugged in controller but unfortunately it still turned off after 3 seconds. I've also tried it with and without the Ethernet plugged in with no luck.

The Netflix thing was annoying but Netflix has always had issues so it didn't bother me. The problem is the console is essentially bricked.
