    OK well, I got my Xbox One X Project Scorpio edition with an hardware issue at boot, I tried all possible options, from total restore to offline update through the USB Pendrive but none worked, so since I do not want to open it and try to fix by myself the issue (standing on what I found looking around the hard disk may be broken and needs to be replaced) I went through the official Microsoft repair request.

    Apart from the cost since warranty has expired, which I do not care because of this ltd edition, one of the steps of the repair request claims "if a repair is not possible, it will be replaced with a refurbished device".

    Well, if it was a standard Xbox One I would not care, but since it is a project scorpio what will I get? A refurbished project scorpio as well or a standard xbox one? Any experience on this or the repair of other limited edition consoles?

    There is no reference on this in any document I found, so if there is no way to have back a Project Scorpio I may decide to repair by myself. The Italian call center is not able to give me a straight answer.

    Hello FilippoEffe, xbox support alone can give you more complete information, however if the console you send for paid Repair from Microsoft is not repaired it will be replaced by a refurbished model either the Scorpio model or the normal model.

    Find a PC repair shop local to yourself as quite a few also do console repairs.
    It is perfectly legal to and not against any Microsoft terms and conditions to get it repaired by a third party, especially since it is long out of warranty.

    I believe it was "Xbox" or whatever the deafault was for the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition, but then I changed it to Project Scorpio.
