Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition stops responding

Good evening. I've had a Project Scorpio Edition Xbox One X since launch and since day one, there have been moments when the console just stops responding to all input from the controller for a minute or two. This will happen whether I'm watching YouTube,
playing a game, or even leaving it for a few minutes just sitting at the dashboard, doing nothing at all. I have even tried taking the batteries out of the controller to force turning it off, but even when I do that, it only responds to the first couple of
button presses before it stops responding again. I am starting to think that the problem is the console itself.

Is there any way to stop this from happening, or do I need a new device completely?

Concerns about the reported problems about the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition.

I just purchased an Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition off of Amazon and I'm concerned about the failure rate, heat, fan noise and other problems with Scorpio Xbox One Xs by reading the forums off of Xbox.com and others. I haven't opened up the retail box
yet. Should I return it and get an regular Xbox One X or an 1-2 TB Xbox One S?

First thing to try is a power cycle. This should help clear up any corrupt cache issues and other stuff that the console may have lingering around, which can cause abnormal system behavior.

Have you also checked for a
controller firmware update? This seems to be a problem directed at the controller. To further troubleshoot, check if this happens with other Xbox One controllers (if available) or while your Xbox One controller is wired to the console with a micro-USB cable.

I've had a similar problem. I have the Xbox X and the Elite controller. A couple of times, tonight is one, I turn on the console and it only responds to pressing the Home button and a couple of navigation commands. Hold down the home button to bring up the
power off console, controller, or report a problem menu, when one is highlighted it just blinks when pressing the A button. Only have had the X for a couple of weeks. Hasn't happened yet while I am doing something on the console. only after it is powered up.

 

So, I see we are the only two people with the Xbox One X that are having this problem. One question I have for you, are you using the Elite controller? It seems Xbox support has no answers except to power down, power up, reboot the router, make sure everything
is upgraded, on one leg and swing a rubber chicken over your head, etc... The only time I have this problem of no response is when using the Elite controller with the X. When I switch over to the standard controller I have no problem. If I use the Elite on
my Xbox One day one edition with the Elite I have no problem.
