Xbox One X Powers off - Power Button Flashes twice 4 or 5 times

So recently my Xbox One X has started randomly powering off. No error messages or messages about over heating. When this happens the Power Light flashes twice quickly either 5 or 6 times before completely shutting down.

Upon power on it has totally shut down and displays the 4k Animation prior to the Xbox logo boot up screen.

This has happened randomly while using the Xbox and while it was 'powered off' in sleep mode. I put it to sleep as I go to bed only to find out that overnight it has shut itself down.

Searching online for this Flashing Power button sequence doesn't seem to provide any info.

Also just prior to this my Kinect has stopped being recognized. Initially I thought the Kinect may be causing the issue so I've had it unplugged for a couple of days now. So I'm unsure if I have an Xbox Console issue only or a Console AND Kinect issue.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the soft factory reset option! I will try it.

So a couple of updates.... since my Kinect wasn't being recognized I've had it unplugged for a few days and the issue still occurs. It doesn't seem to occur during any particular game. But it did seem to happen every night when I powered the Xbox off for
the night (had it set for the instant on mode option). Yesterday I also set my Xbox to never turn itself off as I wanted to see if it would shut down. I left it running last night at the Home Dashboard and this morning it was turned off.

If it is a hardware issue I will not be spending the $275 to have this box out of warranty repaired. That seems pretty ridiculous to spend that kinda money on a console that isn't even 2 years old yet. Ugh...

Hi Jcole,

Anyone with the issue can try a
soft factory reset. This may be as simple as a corrupt OS. Try this and let us know. If it happens with a certain game, try uninstall and reinstall the game.

https://devicesupport.microsoft.com. Once the repair request has been set up and you've received your shipping label you can pack up the console. Be sure to only pack what
needs to be repaired as Xbox does not guarantee that extra items such as cables or controllers will be returned.
