Xbox ONE X Powering up Issue

The Xbox One X automatically powers it's self off after a few seconds powering up.

Press the power button it makes it's start up chime, your hear it run up, it displays the 4K screen then abruptly powers off before the green Xbox One X logo screen. It has done this straight out of the Box not every time but often enough, a month into
ownership and it's happening more often.

Microsoft please fix, this issue it's certainly not a 'cheap console' so I expect better!

After running my Xbox One X. for 12 hours with no activity in use, I have found no extreme heat changes. I will be leaving it on however to see if there is anything different overnight. With the addition of about 4 hours game-play to boot. If I DO NOT see
any changes still... I will have to guess that its a software issue for the Instant-On feature within the system's OS.

 

Xbox One X power on issues

I seem to have 3 strange issues with my Xbox One X.

A) Sometimes when I try to quit a game (options button on controller, select quit game) my console is turned off

B) my console won’t turn on using the xbox button on the controller (as Xbox One did)

C) even though I have instant on in the power settings of my console, When turning on the console I will always have to wait about 15-20 seconds in the initial xbox sign screen the initial green one) before I go into the main screen.

Can anyone please advise?

 

Bad Power brick? Or possibly just a bad console

You should look at warranty or exchange on the unit - As these are clearly supposed to not do that.

 

To add I have followed the advice within the support pages - Plug the console directly into a main power socket, did this from the start!

 

There is no Power Brick with the Xbox ONE X......so bad console it maybe.

I have definitely seen the too hot issue cause issues in the past. You are correct - no Power Brick but it is internal as you stated.

Their could definitely be some kind of internal protections where it is seeing something strange going on.

Also try a different plug or if your using a power strip those are very good at failing on higher loads and killing things. The cheaper ones are notorious for failures.

 

The Xbox ONE X is now on it's way to Microsoft to investigate, repair or replace under warranty. Not impressed and with hindsight I should of stayed with the PS4.
