Xbox One X- Powerful console - very slow dashboard / OS?!

    Hi

Has anyone got any tips on how to fix the speed of the xbox one on the dashboard? I upgraded to the xbox x last year and initially i saw a improvement with speed on the dashboard. However now it just seems slow like the original xbox i had.

I have tried a few tips from reddit users which mention to turn off Smooth Transitions (Personalisation options).

I have taken off all feeds below the main page.

Soft reset by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

For having such a powerful console which is let down by its slow OS is such a shame.

Im wondering if anyone else has any tips?

Some people on reddit have mentioned to disconnect external HDD.

    Change DNS to Googles DNS.

OR am i wasting my time and so OS need to be scrapped and a new one released?

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Xbox one dashboard speed

The dashboard has not improved at all with the new xbox one x. It is still very slow and freezes often. Can you please update it?

  3. Xbox one is extremely SLOW

I can't tell you how frustrating this is. To be completely honest I haven't been impressed with the xbox one at all! For a console that claims to be 10 x more powerful than the 360, this takes the p%#s! Dashboard is so slow and unresponsive. Messages,
achievements, snap record feature... Etc. the list is endless. In fact it's so bad that I've actually retired to not playing my console as much anymore as it's very un-enjoyable. Needs a massive overhaul & juicy update to fix this agonising pain. Extremely
    dissatisfied.

Though the Xbox One X is a powerful system, more so than the original Xbox One, the dashboard and systems don't necessarily utilize all of those resources. There are dedicated resources on the console for the system functions, while the rest are dedicated
to video game performance for utilization of game developers. That likely explains why you might not feel a significant performance increase in the system OS functions over previous iterations, despite increased system specifications.

They are continuing to improve the system and add features, which can change performance as well. Also do you have your console enrolled in the Xbox Insider program? That can also cause differences in system performances based on what build is running on
    your console.

Yeah, it was faster for me at first too, but now it’s slow again. They did say it was supposed to have improved speed, but it doesn’t. It’s still a lovely console though.

  6. as stated by an other here, the interface doesnt necessarily utilize increased resources.

If not already a member of the insider program i recommend it as a loy of the updates within the preview program show they are continuously working to improve and optimize interface

I have has random slowdowns with my dashboard as well, seems to be tied to when downloads are happening. Any chance it is downloading a system update?

Xbox One X- Powerful console - very slow dashboard / OS?!

One of Microsoft’s selling points of the X was that it was supposed to be much faster. They’ve said it numerous times.

I have been having the same issue. The UI is far worse than the original xbox one. Slow, clunky and very disappointing. Takes foever to load menus, friends lists and so on. Why haven't you fixed this microsoft? The console itself works good, but UI is
terrible. Also your controller cords are trash. Make some that actually fit the controller port please and don't become weak and jiggle around.

  10. A lot of it has to do with the advertisements and social integration. When you have a UI that’s drawing a lot of calls from the internet constantly it’s going to bog down. There was a glitch in an Insider release that allowed you to remove entire tabs from
the top of the UI. All I had was the home page and store and the UI remained lightning fast. Sadly this will never see wide release since they create revenue with those ads and integration.

I wish we could just get rid of the entire Mixer tab. I wonder if that would help speed it up?
