Xbox One X power on issues and controller connection issues.

I am going insane. Sometimes when I turn off my one X then turn it back on at a later time I can't start any games or apps causing me to power cycle my console. Once Ive done a hard reset my controller is unable to connect which means I need to reset my
console again. On the 3rd power on it finally works as intended but man oh man is this getting annoying. Any clue why this is an issue?

Hey Batman!

Another quick side note, when the soft reset is performed, unplug the External Hard Drive to make absolutely sure this doesn't interfere with the data stored on there. Be sure to let us know how it goes!

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused but rest assured we are here to help, however, we need a bit more information on this frustrating matter. What is the console connected to power supply wise (wall outlet, surge protector, ect.). Is there
anything plugged into the console (external hard drives ect)? Also has there been any troubleshooting steps taken to alleviate this matter? Let us know so we can get this resolved and you back to gaming!

Hey thanks for the fast reply. So the Xbox is plugged into a surge protected power bar while at school and directly into the wall while at home. There is an external hard drive connected and while we're on the that topic I forgot to mention that once my
Xbox has been powered off then back on I have to unplug my external hard drive then plug it in again in order to get it to work. The only troubleshooting that works is the hard reset x2 then when it turns on the 3rd time it works.

We suggest first, plugging in the console directly to the wall (to make absolutely sure the console is receiving the 110v of power it needs) and trying a reset of the console since
the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a >Soft
Factory Reset< (while keeping games and apps and hard wire the controller)
IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

Side note: These steps will remove all the accounts on the console so make sure the information to sign back in is noted (email and password).
