Xbox One X Power Issues

Hello

I have been having power issues with my console since I purchased it a week ago. It powered up fine, used it then shut it down. Go to use it again and won’t power up. Removed and refitted power cable as support posts suggest and this works. Then when it’s
shut down I have to do the whole process over again every time I use it.

This shouldn’t happen on a new console that is a week old!

Can you please first connecting your console directly to a wall outlet and not connected via any surge protectors or power strips to see if your still experience the same issues afterwards. If you still experience problems after this can you please try following

I have 2 issues with the console (Xbox one X):

1) When I plug in the console to power pressing the controller button will power it up (as it should). After the first time, the controller button will never power it up again (unless I unplug and plug back into power the console). Every next time I can
only power the console up using the power button on the console (controller won’t power it up).

2) Ofter when I exit and quit a game (using the controller button and select quit on the drop down menu) the consolle will shutdown instantly right after I quit the game. This does not happen every time but quite often.

What should I do?

To check, is your Xbox One console connected to a wall outlet or power strip? Also, if your

console is not powering on, please try running through the steps in that guide to see if they can help out with what you're experiencing.

 

Thanks for the reply. I have followed the guide and I keep having to do the removal of the cable each time I use it. It is plugged into a strip because there is no access to a mains socket

Thanks for trying those steps and for the update on that. We do recommend keeping your Xbox One console connected to a wall outlet rather than an external power strip whenever possible for best results. That is likely why you're finding that you need to
complete a full
power cycle after you power down your console and power it on again.

Something that may help is switching to
Energy-Saving power mode if you're currently using Instant-On power mode.

 

I tried it a couple of times yesterday and after the intital cable remove and refit it worked flawlessly. It is currently on energy saving. I switched to instant on and I have no power issues!

Update on power issue and it has returned. No matter what I try it happens and now it takes ages to start any games sometimes I have to power cycle 3 or 4 times to play a game

An update. I have plugged the console into the mains and can confirm at this moment the console is working correctly

I Have had Xbox One x scorpio edition from day of release. Nothing but problems. Sent for repair still no change. All they keep saying is send it for another repair. Ridicules!

Give up on trouble shooting issues and researching the net and youtube. Nothing sorts it.

All xbox support test done also.
