  1. Xbox One X power cable not plugging in?

I feel like a fool for needing to post about this; but... even though I’m comparing the end of my Xbox one X’s power cable to the port on the console and there seems to be no difference, it just won’t plug in? When I try to plug it in it’s like it bounces
right out. Quite frankly I’m not very knowledgeable on these things, does anyone know why this could be?

Edit: if I keep pressure on the cord, it seems to plug in and the console turns on, but if I let go for even a moment it pops back out

    :)

How to connect the cables of your Xbox 360 Console

You must connect the cables properly to run your Xbox 360 Console.

    Here is how:

    Original Xbox 360 console

    • First, you need to plug one end of the cable into the USB port on the back of the console and the other end into an electrical outlet.
    • If you have a wireless networking adapter, plug it into the USB port on the front of the console by using the supplied USB extension cable.
    • Connect all other USB accessories to USB ports on the front of the console.

Note: You'll have to purchase a power/USB cable if your want to connect the Kinect sensor which you have bought with an Xbox 360 S Console, to an Original Xbox 360 console.

    Xbox 360 S console

    • In Xbox 360 S console, the Kinect sensor cable does not need to be attached with a power plug. So disconnect the power plug portion of the cable if it is attached with a power plug.
    • You need to plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.

Xbox one x won’t turn on?

    Hey Michael,

Which region are you physically located in? Since the console was purchased in the US, you will need to replace the 'figure-8' power cable included in the Xbox One X box with a cable appropriate for your region. Luckily figure-8 cables are common, and that
would be the best place to start.

Before plugging a different cable in, I recommend letting your Xbox One X console sit without anything plugged in for 3 minutes to allow the console to fully drain power. Let us know how it goes!

Xbox One X power cable not plugging in?

    Hey there, HeroicGemini67!

Just to clarify, have you applied firm pressure when connecting the power cable into the leftmost port on the back of the console? Does the cord or the port appear to be damaged or have any visible dirt or debris that may be affecting the cords from connecting
    or the console powering on?

In the meantime, we'd recommend reading over the
    Xbox One X set-up
guide to help with the console set-up process.

Yet another weird X Box One X issue.

I just this second recreated it.

Unplugged power cord from xbox one x and took the Harddrive USB out.

Plugged usb into the xbox then plugged power cord. Wont turn on.

Unplugged both cables and plugged the power cable in first then plugged the hard drive in. Worked fine. Must be a safety feature.

    Xbox Power

    Possible Fixes:

    1. Remove power from your Xbox Series X or S. First hold down the power button to make sure it’s actually off, then unplug the power cable. Leave the cable unplugged for about 30 seconds to a minute, then plug it back in. Check to see if the Xbox will turn on.
    2. Power cycle your Xbox Series X or S. This is similar to the first step, but it goes a bit further. Push and hold the power to make sure the console is off. Then unplug the console from power and leave it alone for about 20 to 30 minutes. Finally, plug it back in and turn the power back on to see if it works.
    3. Check the power outlet. Try plugging a lamp or any other working electronic device into the outlet you use for your Xbox console. If it doesn’t turn on, your outlet may be bad. Try plugging your console into a different outlet. If you’re using a power strip, try plugging your console directly into the wall, or switch to a different power strip.
    4. Try a different power cable. Both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S have internal power supplies that you plug a power cable into. If you have an identical power cable from another electronic device, try swapping the Xbox power cable for another identical one. If the console powers up, you have a bad power cable.

moving to uk xbox one x

The Xbox One X (and One S) internal power supply work worldwide.

You will only need a new power cord, or travel plug adapter to get your cable to fit into the wall socket.
