Xbox One X - PC RGB error code

    Xbox One X - PC RGB error code


    When I change to PC RGB in video settings I get a message saying that something went wrong. I also get an error code: 0x80bd002a which can't be found on this site.

    Why do I get that. My tv at the moment is an 1080p screen that supports full RGB and in my tv settings I have set it to full RGB.

    I can change it anyway even though I get an error message, but I guess it won't work as it is supposed to.

    How do I fix this. Is my console faulty or is it something else?

    I have heard of some faulty Xbox one X units so maybe I have gotten a bad one.

    Ps. I have tested with all the color depths but no difference.

    4K 30bits and 36 bits combined with full-rgb output broken.

    On the Xbox One S when selecting 4K output with either 30bits or 36bits and the pc RGB colour space (full-RGB 0-255). It'll actually output at the standard colour space (limited-RGB 16-235), despite the menu claiming 4K+30bits+pc RGB.

    When using 4K with 24bits colour per pixel and pc-RGB it'll output at those settings.

    Expected:

    4K + 24bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 30 bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 36bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    Reality:

    4K + 24bits + pc RGB: 0-255

    4K + 30 bits + pc RGB: 16-235

    4K + 36bits + pc RGB: 16-235

    Support. At Least Acknowledge These Error Codes Are Being Looked Into

    The error code is the same as the one reported by Larson when changing the RGB output, and like him I was prompted to go to an errorcode lookup only to be told it isn't recognised.....an official Microsoft error code on the Xbox

    hello,i have the same issue and have contacted support who cannot identify the error code,nobody knows what 0x80bd002a is,its a bit sad when Microsoft cannot even give advice on one of its error codes,i have a samsung tv which is fully capable of full rgb
    and when playing non hdr games makes a difference but now im just sticking to standard,the console was fine up until last friday

    Hi BlueLotu5, thanks for your answer.

    Hopefully this is a software problem (probably) and not at hardware problem and can be solved via a patch rather quickly. But you never know, maybe we just sadly have to deal with a strange behaving xbox.

    are you yourself experiencing any specific error codes?

    If so, please specify it/them, it will allow us other users (and perhaps also Xbox forum staff) to try and assist based on that specific error code (or codes)
