Xbox One X Party Connection Issue

Ever since I switched to the Xbox One X I cannot maintain a connection to a party for no more than 15 minutes at a time before it disconnects me and I have to leave and rejoin. The disconnects happen anywhere from immediately after I join to around 15 minutes
at best which is rare. I struggle to believe this is a network issue on my end as I have had no issues while using the original Xbox One on the same network for over a year and a half prior to switching. There is a twist however, being that I am on a network
operated by my college, so therefore I have no control over things like port forwarding which has been a highly recommended solution. My NAT is always open, so that isn't an issue. I've tried hard resets countless times, cleaning out memory multiple times,
I'm at a loss at this point. I recently traveled home for winter break and did not have the issue, though I use WiFi at home while it is wired here (can't use WiFi for gaming at school for some reason, and wouldn't want to anyway because it would sacrifice
the high speeds the wired gives me).

TLDR: Can't maintain party connnection. NAT is good, hard resets/memory removal don't work, can't port forward or do anything to alter my connection as I don't have control over the internet. WiFi is not an option. What puzzles me is that it worked for 1.5+
years on a original Xbox One but now doesn't work on the One X :/

Hey there!

Sorry to hear you have been having a hard time with the connection on the Xbox One X. Being that this is not your personal network, there is not too much that we can do to troubleshoot the issue.

As you stated, everything worked fine when connected through the network back home and is only giving you this problem when you are connecting at school.

Make sure to speak with your schools IT so that they can assist you further with this issue.

There isn't a specific adaptor for the Series X/S controllers for PC. The current adaptor works just fine with these newer controllers, however it is now in very short supply. There are third party ones available that do the same thing.

The Xbox 360 wireless controllers use a different WIFI protocol, they need their own Xbox 360 wireless Gaming Receiver.

Xbox One and Series X/S controllers can be connected to PC via Bluetooth, but headsets will only work with the Xbox One adaptor (or a third party version), they won't work when the controller is connected via BT

So far there has not been any resolve, and Microsoft has not really helped me when I tried contacting them. It's a huge let down especially after purchasing the Xbox One recently with the 12 month live plan. I just came from the PS3 hoping the Xbox One could
bring me back, I feel let down.

I forgot to add that my NAT type has been OPEN and my friend as well has been OPEN.
