Xbox one x overheating

Hey guys is anyone having a over heating issues with there X? I just installed assassins creed everything was great played a few hours last night woke up this morning and now about 7 mins in to the games I have been trying. the X just shuts right off.....can
not turn back on.... unless I unplug and plug back in.... help please....should I just call Microsoft. Or go back to game stop

If it's still under warranty, set it up for repair. If not, take it to a trustworthy repair center.

That's great news. Unfortunatly due to the fact my console was the scorpio edition I did not have that option

 

im having the same issue i picked up my project scorpio edition last night started ac origins and have had 8 system shut offs within 2hrs of playing I've tried everything nothing worked and just to make sure it wasn't a issue with the game i hooked up my
halo 5 limited edition console and its runs fine

 

I'll join the wagon here, mines doing the same.. Ridiculous. I've gone from standing the console upright, to laying on its side, but still the problem persists

 

well went back to gamestop swapped my scorpio edition for a standard and seems all good now i believe i had a bad cooling system because it was not pushing the heat out the back the one i have now is i can feel the heat blowing out you guys might also have
a bad cooling system

 

Hi all, received mine earlier today, set it up etc and half hour in the console does feel hot.

Can’t even play a consecutive 5 mins of any game without it crashing and restarting back to the dashboard.

Does this sound a similar issue to yours?

The comments/ replies I am reading are asking how it is plugged in etc.

Are they just clutching at straws trying to mute the complaints or could this genuinely be a problem?

My whole TV set up is plugged in to a 4 bank extension with power surge protection (this is because the plug sockets are no where near where I have placed my unit etc.

Also the rear USB ports are giving power as my External HDD does light up when plugged in, and I use a lead to power my controller instead of eating batteries, this does work, just the HDD isn’t recognised when using the rear ports

Hopefully this can be an easy fix otherwise after spending such a large amount and now the current stock shortages

How and where did you position your xbox is there enoght space around that air can exchange?
