XBOX one X over HDMI extender

    Hi,

I played my XBOX One S over a HDMI extender with CAT 5e cable and had great quality. I just got a XBOX one X and using the same extender and cable I now only get a black screen. The extender is rated for 4K at 60 Hz. Has anyone had a problem or a recommended
    solution?

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Confirmed: No Media Centre Extender... No Backwards Compatibility... No Deal.

Only used media centre extender a couple of times and backwards compatibility would be nice as I have over 150 arcade games but really not bothered because im keeping my 360 and I'll be plugging it into the Xbox One HDMI in.

    Xbox One HDMI over cat5/6?

I have had the same problem. I use an Hdmi cat 5 extender and have purchased several of them all resulting in the image on my movie projector intermittently going in and out, but this only occurs on xbox one, not on the 360. However I did find a single cdmi over cat5 extender that is much more tolerable to use. It only will have issues occasionally while navigating in the the xbox one dashboard, but NOT while watching movies or when playing games and it does maintain the 1080p picture resolution.
I purchased it on amazon. I hope this helps. Please post if you have found any other better solution.

Try first setting up the console with the supplied HDMI cable connected directly to the TV.

Then, you can attempt configuring the display settings (however you had it set on your Xbox One S), and see if it works over your extended HDMI cable.

I'm using a 30 ft hdmi 2.o high speed cable. I'm having. A few hdmi woes with x also. It's very finicky about the cables you use and length. I was thinking about using your method honestly. So let me know if u get it working again.. My cable worked
for 2 weeks , now I can't grt it to work. But that cable works great with my direct tv.

XBox One X - Any alternative to this HDMI Cat6 extender for 4K UHD/HDR?

Just got an xbox one X and was faced with the very sad reality that my current HDMI Cat6 Extender doesn't support 4K 24Hz/50Hz/60Hz HDR and all that (basically everything under the "Watching Movies & TV" section of General 4K TV details"). I have confirmed
that my TV and receiver both support it, its definitely the extender.

The extender I'm currently using is the

Orei 164-feet hdmi extender over single cat5/cat6 upto
    1080p (Model EX-165C)

When looking up Alternatives I came this thread:

    https://www.avforums.com/threads/hdmi-extender-4k-xbox-one-x.2141906/

The last post to provide a solution refers to a "Balun" Extender that supports 4K HDR, but the picture posted is

Atlona At-hdr-ex-70-2ps-tx - But this is friggin $230 I could
nearly buy a new 4k tv black friday deal for this.

When I search Balun on amazon, I find this
    Balun
but it doesn't seem to support 4k, let alone 4k HDR.

    Other alternatives I found are:

    gofanco HDBaseT
    HDMI Extender 4K 60Hz
    - But it says in the description Note: GAME CONSOLES with native 4K @60Hz (such as XBOX One S/X, PS4 PRO) will display in 1080p.

    AV Access HDMI
    Extender(HDBaseT)
    - But something seems iffy about the description. Too vague.

    J-Tech Digital
HDBaseT HDMI Extender 4K Ultra HD
    - But again, this is a bit vague and doesnt explicitly state the support of consoles like Xbox One X .

Does anyone know of a guaranteed option for an HDMI over Cat6 Extender that supports all XBox One X 4k options? Unfortunately I need to stay at or under $150.
Usually adding more devices to your chain is a bad idea it degrades the signal

Why not do it this way

    Plug the xbox directly r

In and all your other devices then do optical out to your receiver

XBox One X - Any alternative to this HDMI Cat6 extender for 4K UHD/HDR?

why you usent a hdmi extender ? im guessn you have your console no were near your tv other wise you wouldnt be useing one inlee you mean you have a hdmi splitter wich has 2 hdmi for a console and ur set top box or cable n u then plug other end into tv
as the orignal xbox cable hdmo suports 4k hmm if you mean you have two tvs and you are useing this extender all if you mean you have only one hdmi socket on ur tv or two an extender will lose 4k quality only way around it sadly is keep you xbox x plugged
into main hdmi socket and use other devices in the extender

Getting the most from Xbox One X & My Monitor

HDMI is limited to 60hz in Xbox One X. DisplayPort is required for it, and your momitor likely also doesnt suport it over HDMI
