Xbox one x not turning on from Windows app

Hey there. I have messed with this for awhile but havent figured much out. Everytime I go to turn on my xbox one x from my pc it says "We can't turn on your console. Make sure this device is on the same network as
your console and your console is set to instant-on." Ive been through settings and checked that everything is setup right and as far as I can tell it is. If I hit add device it still doesn't detect the xbox. What I have to do everytime is turn the xbox on
and restart the console and then it works just fine and I can start streaming. The pc is hardwired ethernet and xbox is on wifi. Im sure its something simple I've missed but if someone can point me in a direction that would be great.

Thanks for your response. If your Xbox One is connected to one of the wireless access points on the same router that your PC is connected, then they are both on the same network. Even though you see two different Wi-Fi networks (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz) and your
devices are connected to either of them, they will be on the same network no matter what; these options are simply different ways to connect to the same network.

I hope this information helps.

A lot of the newer routers offer guest wifi, so if for some reason the console is connected to those, it will
NOT be on the same network.

So far I read through the tips page. What I tried was forgetting the system on the pc app, and resetting the app on the pc. I then cleared the mac address on the xbox and when I added it back to the pc I did it by putting in the Xbox ip adress. Worked
fine for streaming then buy oonce again still wont turn the xbox on through the app after they have both been off for a few hours. My next question before I guess before I try the soft reset is how do I find out exactly what network the pc is on. The Xbox
says it is on my 5g wifi wif the pc just says Ethernet 6.

First, please clear the MAC address in Settings > Network > Advanced > reboot when prompted. See if that works.

you're using the xbox app for pc rigth? becuase that sometimes happens, you should try to reinstall the app, i can bet there is nothing wrong with your xbox

You also may want to take into account if you have multiple wifi connections that both your Xbox and PC are connected to the same one, some modems may have two connections and if they're not on the same wifi it will not work properly.
