Xbox one X not showing as a connected device for child account in family app

I recently upgraded to an Xbox series X, made my old Xbox One X my home Xbox for my kids to use. And moved my old Xbox one S (which used to my my home Xbox) to my daughters room.

I use the Xbox family app to set time limits for my kids. It all worked fine until this switch. It still works, but it does not show the activity time that they spend on the Xbox one X. It does not show the Xbox one X as a device connected to their account. It says to add a device (console) the child logs into the console and it gets added. He is logged into that Xbox every day. It still kicks him off if his timer runs out. He still sends requests for more time through the Xbox and I can add time. But his activity shows 0 minutes out of 6 hours allowed were used for the day because it doesn’t count any time he spent logged on that console. Any ideas?

    :)

Xbox device not registering in family safety app

Hi so I am the family organiser on my Microsoft account and I have my sons account added as a member on Microsoft safety app. Under his account there should be 2 Xbox devices. A Xbox 1 and and a series x Xbox. Neither of the Xbox devices are showing up under his account on family safety even though he is signed into both with his account.

However if he just logs into his Microsoft 365 account both devices show up. They are just not showing up on Microsoft safety app or website

Blocking YouTube on sons Xbox one

    Hi there,

if the accounts are combined to each other via a family etc. Then you should be able to limit app or game time via for example the steps mentioned here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4508642/microsoft-account-set-app-limits-across-your-kids-devices

If the accounts are not in a family together yet, then you may have to do that prior being able to manage any Child accounts in the family, depending on the current situation this link could be useful too:

Move Xbox One to Family Device

    Hi Barton,

Thanks for keeping us updated on your question. Devices are ones that you log into. Has your child logged in on his account on the Xbox? You manage all permissions through your profile, by selecting the child in family. If the device doesn't show, make sure
they log on the console. You can also try registering the console under the child account. As an example,

    screen time set up
is all done through your profile.

    Hope this helps.

    Control Xbox One remotely

there is no exist an app for do that you want. Xbox SmartGlass app just allows you to launch games, browse TV listings, and control apps on your Xbox One. but you can changes settings to the child account as DrifterX22 said. to add family member
on Xbox one, first select your account to sign in. Go to System
    > Settings. Under Account, select Family. This section shows all the current members of your family. Select Add to family. Select the profile for the person you want to add, and then press
the A button on your controller.
