    Xbox One X not outputting video in 4K


    Xbox One X suddenly stopped outputting in 4K. I had it connected to a Toshiba 43” FireTV, and it was displaying in 4K, HDR no problems for a couple months. All of a sudden it would only display in 480i in auto detect. It can display in 1080 with the HDMI
    overide, but the whole point is for it to be in 4K.

    I tried the troubleshooter, i tried four different types of HDMI cables (that work perfectly with other 4K sources), i did a soft, hard, and manufacturer reset on both TV and Xbox, but it still wont detect the TV as 4K or HDR capable, even if other sources
    do and it did before.

    The only thing i can think of is its a hardware issue? Specifically the xbox, since the TV is able to do 4K from my bluray and STB fine on all ports.

    it was able to transmit Dolby Atmos to my soundbar, but no picture (that might be the soundbar though...)

    Xbox One S outputs game content at 1080p and with an HDR color palette, if the game supports it. So no, you are not seeing it in 4K. If you want to see the compatible game in 4K resolution, you would need to use Xbox One X.

    However, Xbox One S will output video content in 4K, such as UltraHD 4K Blu-ray discs and 4K content from streaming services like Netflix.

    Yes, the 360 can output up to 1080p, but not 4k. For 4k you will need a Xbox One S or Xbox One X.

    I don't think you fully understand

    Uhd and hdr are required for 4k output

    Unless you have an xbox one s not a x

    You can't play in 4k

    4k is only for.movies or streaming sources which require both uhd and hdr

    But.xbox.one x will do 4k gaming

    Xbox One S has a 1080p output for this game with HDR. You TV upscale input video signal to 4K, if it not a 4K or less.

    The Xbox one S does not output 4k game content. Only the One X is capable of doing that.
