Xbox one x not downloading/updating

Hi,

What game or games does this message pop for? Many Xbox One games have updates specifically for the Xbox X. If your Xbox One game has a 4K assets update for example, you'll be prompted to download this when using the drive on the Xbox One X console.

The Xbox One S and original Xbox One don't support X-enhancements, so you won't be prompted for that update when using the drive on the One S.

I have a mix of xbox ones, xbox one s, xbox one x, xbox series s and xbox series x. I have 18 xboxes trying to download a game update with that many xboxes becomes a huge hassle time sync.

Yep. All that 4K goodness can come at a cost in download size. Prior to the One X's launch in 2017, a system update added the option to let first-gen and One S owners download 4K-related updates in advance if they were planning on moving to One X in the
near future. The option doesn't exist on One X consoles because the 4K updates are mandatory there.

By public dashboard build you are referring to the live update client that all console's receive, correct?

If you have confirmed that neither of your Xbox's are in the insider program, but your Xbox One X still cannot download the app, then I recommend trying the soft factory reset at least once more.

I have an Xbox One X at home, so I can test if it download on mine or not. Will have to update that later but based on your troubleshooting it could be a specific issue to the Xbox One X model.
