Xbox One X not displaying picture

    Hi all,

I recently encountered a video issue a launch edition/Project Scorpio Xbox One X console.

Prior to video issue on the Xbox One X console, Minecraft was being played and the screen started to flicker. I thought something was wrong with the game, so I rebooted the system and the video never came back on.

I've verified that I'm viewing the correct input on the television, have tried two different 4k TVs, have tried 3 different HDMI cables and tried various 'Power cycling' methods I've searched on the internet (holding down the power button, sometimes simultaneously
with the eject button for 10-15 seconds). After my initial online searches, I feel like I'm back in the RROD days. Ugh.

I rarely used the Xbox One X system (only watching a few 4k blu rays I can count on one hand and played games using Game Pass). I used my Xbox One S far more (watching about 40-50 4k movies and mostly played games using Game Pass).

With the pandemic going on, Microsoft support has been lacking (no options to call or chat or email or visiting a MS store are available for me at this time), so I'm reaching out to the community to see if there are any solutions to troubleshoot the video
    issue.

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

It seems like you've tried all steps. I'm assuming you have tried different hdmi ports on your tv?

It possible you need to set up a repair. The hdmi port on your console could be defective.

Xbox One X not displaying picture

My son had the same issue, worked since release and then today no picture. I changed the tv's hdmi setting for 4k60 and turned it off and then I got some flickering of the home screen with a green line. I moved the x1x to another 4k60hdr10 tv and no
screen(it used to work perfect). I changed that tv's hdmi setting for ultra HD to off and I got a stable home screen but now all of the 10 bit and hdr notifications are reading as not working. So I tried 1440 and 1080 and got no screen. When I try to turn
the hdmi ultra setting back on I get nothing. So this gfx card is jacked. I'm going to have to send it back like I did with RROD twice. And I was considering buying 3 or 4 Series X for the four of us, how can I trust the hardware.

Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

    You're a little discombobulated there.

I can display 1440p ONLY at 144Hz, and cannot at 120Hz on Xbox. I can only display 1440p at 60Hz on Xbox one X.

Yes I can display 1440p at 60Hz with Freesync - Although 120Hz without Freesync would still technically be better but unfortunately that is not possible with the restrictions on Xbox one X.

I use 1440p @ 60Hz settings with Freesync and HDR with 32 bit color. I get a pretty damn good picture but I'm just a little upset I can't use the 120Hz feature.

    1X degrades cable picture

So are you saying you plugged your cable box into the HDMI passthrough on the One X?

If the cable box is defaulting to a lower resolution when connected into the Xbox One X's HDMI passthrough, you should be able to adjust the display output in the cable box's settings menu.
When cable box goes through xbox one x the picture quality is degraded compared to when it is connected to tv straight. Not really resolution, theres more noise in the picture. Tried switching hdmi cables, inputs. Hopefully it can be corrected via software
    update.

Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

The Sky Q box will only be able to see what it is plugged into, in your case its plugged into the Xbox One X.

Why don't you plug the Sky Q box into the TV, let the box "discover" your LG TV, once the Sky box knows what sort of picture it can display then plug the Sky output into the Xbox One X input.
