Xbox One X not detecting 1440p

So this past Thursday I purchased a new monitor which is the Asus ROG STRIX XG32VQ. It’s 2560x1440, 144hz, FreeSync, and has hdmi 2.0. My Xbox One X is only showing 720p and 1080p as the available resolutions, not 1440p. I’m using the hdmi cable that came
with the Xbox. I’ve talked to Xbox support and the only explanation to this problem Ive been given is that the monitor doesn’t support HDR10, which makes no sense. Anyone have a fix to this problem? I’ve tried hard resetting my Xbox 3 times and resetting the
monitor. Thanks!

Xbox one x support 1440p pc monitor? i have a 1440p monitor but not visible option 1440p...only 1080p or 720p......help me please...

my monitor is new and the model is lenovo L24Q-10

Will Xbox One / Xbox One X ever support 2560 x 1080p or even 2560 x 1440p someday ? ... just curious.

Have you tested using an alternate HDMI cable to connect your console to your monitor? Also, could you clarify for us the current OS that is installed on your system by navigating to: Settings>System>Console Info & Updates?

 

I’m using the HDMI cord that came with my X, which is supposedly HDMI 2.0. I’ve also tried the HDMI from my Xbox One S. OS version is 10.0.17133.2020

Thanks for taking the time to clarify that. Your console is fully up-to-date and should be able to support 1440p. If you are unable to see 1440p as an option if you navigate to settings > display & sound > resolution, then we'd recommend reaching out to
your monitor's manufacturer for further clarification if your monitor is supported.

I spoke with them this morning. It’s not a monitor issue it’s an Xbox issue. I plugged my laptop into the hdmi port and it displayed in 1440p perfectly. I’m in the Beta ring of the Insiders, could I possibly have a bug in my update?

Ive seen a couple of reviews at Amazon that seem to indicate this monitor does not work properly with the Xbox One.

One of the reviews states

”the color, clarity and curved screen are stunning. However, for some reason, I could never get this monitor to work properly with my Xbox One X. The Xbox does not auto detect the 1440p resolution.
I had to manually select hdmi and 1440p for it to display in 1440p. The Xbox also will not detect the FreeSync in 1440, but will in 1080. And lastly, it will not recognize the 144hz refresh rate in either resolution. I’m not sure
what causes this but I contacted both Asus and Xbox Support and neither could help me with the issue. I was hoping for an update for the Xbox to fix the issues but as of today (June 4th) there isn’t one.”

 

I am having the same issue,i have the Asus Rog PQ348 34"ultrawide curved monitor 100hz refresh rate ,gtx1080ti, now my X is connected to monitor via HDMI,2.0 when i go to click on 1440 it says out of range ,WTF........ i think xbox/microsoft need to address
this issue very seriously because people and i for 1 have paid a shed load of money out for my pc setup and a X ,And now this crap,,,,,,Seriously sort this out.,............................It nothing to do with the HDMI cable ,,,,its down to xbox /microsoft
for not supporting this properly,as usuall half arsed ......
