    Xbox one X no sound through the Tv


    Hi, I have tried all the current suggestions of resetting even a full wipe, tried audio settings and changing hdmi cable and port it is in on the TV but my daughters One X has just stopped transmitting sound to the TV but there is sound coming through a headset connected to the controller and if I launch apps on through the TV like Netflix it has sound. Try the same thing on the console and still no sound, Can anyone help?

    Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the sound, right now this is a known issues that is affecting some players.

    "Some players have reported intermittent audio issues across the dashboard or when launching games or apps.

    If you encounter this behavior, be sure to report this issue and choose the Report with advanced diagnostics option. Make sure to include information like audio setup, when this issue occurred, troubleshooting steps tried, and other relevant info.

    Workaround: Reboot the console and games should launch normally"

    If the workaround doesn't work for you, and just to cover everything from your side. Did you tried connecting the console to a different HDMI port in that TV?

    Hi there Adlibs welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Please try the following! Press the Bind and Eject buttons, and hold those buttons to keep them pressed. Then, with the Bind and Eject buttons held, press the Xbox button.

    Let go the Bind and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone. Thereafter, the Xbox One should start up at the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    Then please select Reset and remove everything!

    Are trying to get your xbox one sound on your tv? Or your tv sound on the xbox one? If it's tv sound on xbox one through the optical port that does not work as the xbox one is an output only.

    If you are trying to get xbox one sound on your tv. When you go to sound settings what do you have selected for optical output? Try "stereo uncompressed" sound if you have not tried this alread. Your receiver might not be able to handle the other options.

    Hello JasonEvans16,

    If you have a 4K TV I would connect the Xbox One X HDMI to the TV. Then connect the optical out of the Xbox One X to your sound bar. That way you won't have to worry about degrading your video quality. Most sound bars don't have 4K passthrough.

    I'm going off that the OP was going to connect the Xbox to the sound bar then the sound bar to the TV, this route would require the sound bar to have HDMI 2.1 to retain 4K at 120hz for the TV

    If they can connect the Xbox straight to the TV then the TV connects to the sound bar, they should be fine and everything works.
