Xbox One X no games work, apps work fine

As of a few days ago, my Xbox One X won't play any games. They will generally load to the title screen then just kick me to the dashboard with no error message. This happens with disc and digital games, on internal or external hard drive. I've even had the
hard drive replaced and that's not fixed it.

I've tried every troubleshooting step. Soft, hard resets, unplugging everything, using different profiles, different plug sockets. Tried disabling 4k and HDR, moving games from internal to external and vice versa. Also done complete factory resets numerous
times and reinstalling games.

Apps work fine, but no games will work. If I completely wipe everything and install a very small game first then it may load and play for a short while before crashing but anything above a couple of gb will immediately crash to the dashboard. The console
is 13 months old, therefore 1 month out of warranty and so a repair from MS is £205 hence going to a local repair specialist who advised replacing the HDD. This didn't work and I'm out of ideas.

Hi Brad,

Just to say that I spoke to someone at support and I can honestly say it was probably the worst customer 'support' I've ever received. The person basically said "it's out of warranty" then confirmed that "yes it happens all the time" when I asked if it was
normal that a £450 console breaks after 13 months.

As someone that's paid a lot of money into the Xbox ecosystem over the past 15 years it's making me really consider switching to PlayStation.

Do you know if it's possible to get a refund for Xbox Live or Game Pass Ultimate given these circumstances? I'm paid up, but obviously have no console to use them on.

I would suggest setting up a call back with Customer Support again and speaking to another agent.

I'm sorry to hear about your most recent interaction with Customer support.

I would again inform them that you've owned the Xbox for 13 months and confirm whether or not there are

any other options for you to get it repaired. It wouldnt hurt to try and that is honestly what I would do. Try that and let us know how it goes!

Hi Lennon,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. This sounds like it is a hardware issue. You can try and call support see if they can do anything to assist you being it is so close of being out of warranty. I will not give any troubleshooting as you have
done everything.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
Step 3-----select show contact options

Step 4 ----select request call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.
