Xbox one x no controller won’t power on console

every time I turn my Xbox one x off it won’t turn back on via controller i have to push the power button on the console twice. it wasn’t doing this the first week I had it but now it’s every time I turn it off it doesn’t a full shut down even though it’s
power settings are setup not to be this way.

Xbox one X power issues

I have 2 issues with the console (Xbox one X):

1) When I plug in the console to power pressing the controller button will power it up (as it should). After the first time, the controller button will never power it up again (unless I unplug and plug back into power the console). Every next time I can
only power the console up using the power button on the console (controller won’t power it up).

2) Ofter when I exit and quit a game (using the controller button and select quit on the drop down menu) the consolle will shutdown instantly right after I quit the game. This does not happen every time but quite often.

What should I do?

 

Controller Problem

The power button keeps flashing on my Xbox One controller and won’t connect to my Xbox. Help please?!?!

I don't think the control is the issue, I have the same problem. Xbox One X in instant on mode but I have to hit the power button twice to cut it on and it has done a full boot instead of a quick start. If I try to turn it on with the controller nothing
happens but the control works just fine once the console is on.

 

My controller won't power on the console either, but it's intermittent. If it's been a long time like overnight, it tends to not power it on. But if I just shut it off and wait a few minutes it powers it on. I'm using energy saving mode. I've tried unplugging
external drives and it still doesn't power on. I've changed to a different controller and it won't power the system on either. I have to press the button on the front of the console to start it, then the controller will link up and it works fine. Something
in the system is going to sleep and not waking up when the signal is sent from the controller.

 

I have the exact same issue with mine.

Press the Xbox button on the controller, it turns on, but the console does not.

I then have to press the power button the the console twice for it to turn on.

This question is aimed to everyone in the thread having the same issue: are you enrolled in the Xbox Insider program?

I've experienced something very similar that I did not have before enrolling in the Insider program, as you get a specific system update build.

Even if you're not in the insider program, my intuition leads me to believe it's still related to the current system update in some way.

I suggest trying a
Soft Factory Reset to restore the operating system and redownload the system update.

Try out the console and let us know if that helps with the power up issue.

 

My XBox One X has been doing this since the last update in August. Requires two pushes of the power button on the console and comes on like it's set to power saving mode even though I have it set to instant on. Nothing is updating either while it's off.
I might turn on my console maybe once a week or every ten days. Usually greeted with a few games needing updates. Everything is set to keep games up to date.
