    Xbox One X never keeps games or system up to date.


    Could someone explain to me why my Xbox One X is never up to date? Every time I go to turn it on (not my main system as I have a series x, use it less than once a month) there is always some form of system update, or games that need to be updated. I’ll run by the settings at the end of the post but as far as I know, every little thing that could be preventing automatic updates is correct. Is there an issue with the beta tier and One X’s this has happened every time I turn on my One X.

    From My Games and Apps all settings are on. Keeps games and apps up to date, remote access, and network transfer. Power mode is instant on, and the “when Xbox is off, turn off storage” is unchecked. I have an external SK Hynix SSD in some enclosure I bought off Amazon. I’m not sure the brand but if y’all think that has anything to do with it I certainly can find out what brand it is.

    Never got 4k updates

    You need to download the 4K assets. On Xbox One X, 4K updates will download automatically if you’ve told your Xbox to “Keep my games & apps up to date” (in Settings > System > Updates > Games
    & apps    ).

    I’m using XBox One as opposed to PC. Made sure settings are set to keep games and apps up to date as well as system. Just uninstalled; reinstalling now.

    What if I never download system updates?

    Then your system wouldn't be up to date and some features may fail too run properly.
    My system isn't up to date and everything is working fine - as long as I leave the internal HDD alone.

    All games and apps are being run by the external HDD.

    Console boots up fine as well - but just a black screen. No One-x chipset animation or xbox one green screen.

    It depends on the exclusive deal that happened between Sony and Insomanic games, the developer even said never maybe to keep Sony sweet.
