Xbox One x "Moderate NAT Type"

Thank for the info, I wasn't able to test any of the solutions given, because I had to work last night. But this morning I went to test my NAT Type and it said Open. Idk what changed between this morning and last night. I will keep in mind these solutions
if this happens again. Thank You!!

To resolve your multiplayer game issue, you’ll need to recheck your NAT type after each solution we try. To retest your NAT type:

1. Open the guide by pressing the Xbox button in the center of your controller.
2. Scroll right in the guide to the System area
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network Settings.
6. Select Test NAT Type

After the test has completed, you’ll see the results of your NAT type just below All done. If your NAT type is now Open, you can select Continue to return to the Network Settings home page. If it’s not Open and you’re going
to continue to troubleshoot, you may want to leave your console on this screen while trying the next step. This way, you can select Test NAT type when you’re ready to test again.

Note: If your NAT type is Moderate NAT and you immediately retest your NAT type without power cycling your home networking devices, you may see a false positive where your console displays an Open NAT even though your network isn’t Open.
This false positive is because your network device has already mapped that port based on the prior test. Restarting your network devices first is the only way to ensure an accurate test.

Your router will provide a different IP to your Xbox when it is wired vs when it is wireless. The IP address from your router attaches to the MAC address of the specific network interface device (WiFi or Wired) which is why it will assign a new one when
you switch to the other one. The reason it probably changed overnight is the IP address expire and when the system booted up in the morning it asked for a new IP or to refresh an IP. If you are trying to forward ports, you will have to reserve both the wired
and wireless IP address if you are consistently switching between the two.

Older routers with earlier versions of UPnP require you to shutdown your system to correctly configure NAT each time when it is started. Instant On can cause issues.

Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with your Xbox One X having a Moderate NAT type while connected to the internet using an ethernet cable. Have you attempted to change the port your cable is connected to on your router? Also,
you may want to try using another ethernet cable.

Please let us know how this goes.

Have you tried adding your Xbox to your network’s DMZ? If your router supports this feature you should try adding your console’s IP to it.
