    Hi,

    bought a new tv and sound bar and now have about a 1 - 2 second sound delay.

    TV is a panasonic TX-55GZ1000 and sound bar is a panasonic SC-HTB700.

    my setup - xbox one x > hdmi 3 on tv, hdmi 2 (arc) on tv > sound bar. Xbox one x settings are - hdmi audio out > bitstream, bitstream format > dolby atmos for home theatre. The tv and sound bar support dolby atmos.

    Optical does not support dolby atmos so it is not a solution, i have the same issue with both ps4 and one x microsoft, or samsung cannot fix haha

    I have the same soundbar.

    You have to disable Vera link on fbe Soundbar to enable optical on tv mode.

    Annoying but it works.

    Hi l3ully,

    In the first instance I would try using a TOSlink optical cable to connect the Xbox One X directly to the soundbar and seeing if that makes a difference to the delay by simplifying the signal run for the audio.

    thank you both for the your replies. I will give it a go.

    I do not get any delay with any other device connect the same way ie sky q box and panasonic bluray player?
    No worries, happy to help :)

    I am not sure why that is, but I have come across other gamers who have had audio issues with ARC/HDMI/ Audio pass through on AV receivers and soundbars. Could be because of the amount of data being sent over HDMI and the processing required hence the delay.

    Do let us know how you get on with the TOSlink/Optical cable :)

    Does your sound bar have it's own sound processor built in? Having it run through 2 sound processors would definitely delay the signal. If thats the cause it would need to be turned of on one of the devices. Might even be your TV trying to do sound processing.
