Xbox one x malfunctioning

hi, ive had my xbox one x for about 7 months now, and i started noticing some lag and visual glitches in the way the graphics were loading (i.e. racing games wouldn't load the road, everything else was there, but no road) within a day or two, the problem
escalated from annoying glitches and lag, to games freezing, and ultimately to the point where i couldn't get any game to load past the title screen. the xbox home was unresponsive at times, and everytime i tried to start a game, it would freeze completely,
and id have to manually power it off. a friend suggested dusting it, which sounded odd at first, but when i looked closely, i noticed that my cooling vents were almost completely clogged, and overheating was likely at least part of the issue. i cleaned the
vents, and performance has definitely improved, however a couple of my games are still having issues. my console never shut itself off, so i assumed it never got hot enough to trigger that response, but is it possible that i could have caused damage to the
processor, like, for example, if the safeguard mechanism that powers the console off during overheating is not working properly? i have tried everything including a soft reset, and deleting my local saved game files, and although the freezing is mostly fixed,
and ive been able to start several games without any problems, loading is still slow, and the xbox home menus still lag periodically i also have a few other questions regarding this issue, firstly, ive been told to clear my cache, but all the instructions
ive found have been for the first gen xbox one, with an external power supply, and im wondering if the procedure is still the same for the one x, with its power supply being internal. one of the steps is waiting until the light on the power supply turns orange,
but is there a rough estimate of how long i should wait, since i don't have the visual indicator to rely on? ive already tried this step, but its possible i wasn't doing it right. lastly, i live in

New Mexico, which is basically like living in a bowl of sand. our air is 30% sand. everything gets dusty within days. is it possible that dust is building up inside the system, and that just cleaning the vents is not an adequate solution? will opening the
xbox myself void my 1 year warranty? if at all possible, id like to avoid sending my console in for repair, our state is currently in lockdown due to covid, my job has been closed for roughly 8 months, and my xbox is the only thing keeping my sanity intact,
so id like to make sure ive exhausted all my diy options first.
