Xbox one x losing nat with reboot

I am using my Xbox one x on a archer vr600 version 2 and a day one xbone. The old xbox one is connecting with ease to wifi and with open ports. The xbox one x is not able to get a static IP adress in the Wifi. When I connect via cable it works until I shut
the xbox down. When I start it up again it has the same IP as before it cannot connect. I have to hold the powerbutton for 10 seconds and disconnect it from the wallplug. And then it gets a connection most of the time.

I ask myself why the first Xbone is able to connect with ease and the xbonex is not

    :)

    UPnP Strict NAT /w "Instant-on"

    I followed this guide: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/nat-error-solution

I was getting a Strict NAT type with "instant start up" X1 power setting and an OPEN Nat type with "energy saver" power setting on X1. I was determined to get my NAT type to "OPEN" in combination with the "instant startup" power option enabled. I followed
the link above, and followed the steps CLOSELY. The guide requests you disable and re-enable Upnp on your router with reboots of your whole setup (modem, router and X1) between each step. This alone got me to a "Moderate" NAT setting with "Instant startup"
enabled. Kept following the guide step by step... next step was enabling DMZ. I did this and presto! It worked!

I recommend following this guide carefully and fully. It provides in depth explanations and also links to your particular router settings that open in separate windows so you can continue the process without losing your progress.

  5. Have you done a hard reset on the actual router?

If so, it might be time to talk to the hardware team. Hope you get it resolved soon!

I'm a bit confused by your description.

Could you describe in more detail how you've setup your xboxs network settings.

What IP is the non-working IP?

Both IPs work. One was manually reserved one was given by the dhcp server in the router.

Upnp is active and is usually working fine. I used another archer before that while I was using cable Internet. Now I switched to vectoring and needed something new.

Couple of minutes ago I did not get any connection to xbl and suddenly wifi worked. Cable did not.

These effects are so random. I also trief static ip and dmz. The same effect after a normal restart.

    Now I use automatic settings

  10. Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! I would suggest
    creating a static IP for
    both consoles using this resource.

Once you do that it should work fine.
    You can also
    port forward as
well if you want better connection.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results!

I did exactly that the first time and it did not work either. I have to press the button in the xbone x 10 seconds to shut it down, then I have to unplug it. Then I wait 5 Minutes and turn it on again, and sometimes it workes. That is totally random behaviour
the Day One Xbone never had these problems. I also tried IPv6, that was the same. So my guess is, that the x interprets internet protocols different than the old xbox one.

    Hello der Metatron!

It seems as though there are connection issues to the home network, and we'd be glad to assist with that here.

The console is setup for all functions as I can see that even port forwarding was attempted. As this is all set, it seems that this might be a miscommunication on the network end, and we would suggest that the Internet Service Provider investigate further
as there might be some errors on the actual hardware supporting the service.

We hope this information helps, and after contact with the Internet Service Provider it would be great to hear what was attempted.

    Best wishes!

  14. Hi Metatron,

    I would recommend changing the
    console to Energy-Saving Mode:

    1. Press the
Xbox button to open the guide (Don't hold the Xbox Button on the controller)
    2. Select
      System >
      Settings
    3. Select
      Power & startup
      >Power mode & startup.
    4. Select
      Power mode
      to change the setting to
      Energy-Saving
    5. Then restart the console by pressing the
      Xbox Button
      again. Go to
      System
      and select
      Restart Console
      (Not Settings).

    Also, please try
    a
    Soft Factory Reset.
It could be the operating system is having some technical difficulties if it not a hardware
    or router/ISP problem.

    Steps:
    Xbox Guide Button
    >
    System
    >
    Settings
    >
    System
    >
    Console Info
    >
    Keep my games and apps

    Side Note:
    It is
very important to make sure you know the primary email/password to the account before removing
    it from the console.

To check the email being used with the gamertag, go to
    Settings > Account > sign-in, security & passkey;
in middle column at the top it will say "show on home"
if it is checked it will rotate from gamertag and email on homepage. If it is not check marked, it will show in this box.

Let us know if this fixed the issue Xbox one x losing nat with reboot :)
