Xbox One X loses internet when powered down

I purchased the Xbox One X prelaunch and picked it up the night it released. Since I have had it whenever I power off the machine it disconnects from Xbox Love. This means no automatic updates or push to install or any control from the Xbox app. My main
concern is automatic updating. I have discussed it with Microsoft Support and was assumed resolved but it has continued. I have the system set to instant on and I have it set to never turn off automatically and I also have it set to keep the external hard
drive on when the system is powered off. I’m left clueless as to why this is happening since it only started when I switched to the new console. My original Xbox One had no issues with this. Any help would be great

You will not lose your games saves when you upgrade to the Xbox One X from Xbox One as your game saves are stored on the Cloud.

You don't have to transfer game saves from the Xbox One to the Xbox One X.

They (game saves) will sync once your console (Xbox One X) is connect to the internet.

Unable to consitently turn on Xbox One X remotely

To clarify, when your Xbox One X console is powered off, are you seeing the ability to connect to your Xbox One X console? We tested this on our end while the console was set to Instant-On power mode, and there is no option to connect to the console while it
is powered off and the SmartGlass app does not retain the connection to the console while the console is not powered on.

For NAS specific issues, we'd recommend creating a new Support thread as that may lead down a different path of troubleshooting steps.

 

I have the same issue. I’m hardwired to my router but it’s as if while in standby mode there is not enough power to hold a connection. In my case, based on the router logs, it’s showing constant connect/disconnect messages every few seconds like this:

I’ve tried 2 different Xbox One X’s and they both do it. It’s driving me nuts.

 

Does it have electricity for 24/7?

What do you mean? I’m not clear on what you’re asking.

It stays plugged in, it just goes into a low power “sleep” or “standby” state.

 

Bit of an old thread - but wanted to chime in. I was having this exact same issue with my 1X. I fixed it by hard-wiring it to at switch instead of directly to my router (Asus RT-AC86U). I was getting these exact log entries until I did that. Now it works
fine.
