Xbox One X - Leaving/closing Spotify App

Just bought my Xbox One X and downloaded Spotify.

After imputing my current Spotify account login details (i.e. User and Password, it's the login option you find far on the right hand side) the app opened fine and all my playlists and history were there. No issues.

It was when I decided to leave the app where I found this issue. I pressed the main home button in my controller (i.e. the big X in the middle of it you also use to turn the console on) and the only options were:

- Turn off the console

- Turn off the controller

- Close (that brings you back to Spotify)

Is this an already identified issue that is going to be fixed? Am I doing something wrong (in some forums, they indicate how to do it but they mention the "leave app" option in the menu above, that is not there for me when I press the "main home" button)

Spotify App won't load and freezes my Xbox after my Xbox has been "off" all night

Hello,

This has been a recent problem for my Xbox One X. I will go to open my Spotify app after my Xbox has been turned off all night and the Spotify app will just infinitely load and I can't access Home or do anything unless I hard reset but after I hard reset,
everything will be fine.

Ability to launch music playback without leaving your game.

I think it would be awesome to be able to play music from Spotify, Groove, Pandora, etc without having to open each app full screen. Like asking cortana to play music in spotify for instance, or bringing the app up in the side menu without leaving the game
screen.

Hi Luis,

The menu that's popping up for you is for when you long-press the Xbox button on a controller. i.e. if you hold that button a second, the controller should vibrate and you get the power options you list.

To pop open the guide, you need only tap the Xbox button, after which you should be able to quit the app by highlighting it and pressing the Menu button (three horizontal lines) and selecting Quit.

Another option is to go back to the console dashboard (tap the Xbox button > "Home") and then highlight the Spotify tile on the dashboard and press Menu > Quit.

Let us know how you get on.

Have you tried searching for spotify on the store from another account on your console then try to install the app?

I haven't had this problem. My problem with spotify: I was listening to an album, then an ad came on, when the ad ended there wasn't any audio. I opened the app to see if it was paused. I pressed play on a song, no audio, tried a different album still no audio. I closed spotify then when I reloaded it said Something Went Wrong. Reload, This App Needs To Be Reinstalled (never seen that message before). Reinstalling didn't help. After closing and reinstalling multiple times finally spotify just started working again. Also awhile back spotify would close itself randomly after a few songs, no other game or app would do this.

Try to delete the Spotify App and Download it again, load your account and leave a comment if this does not help you.
