Xbox one x keeps shutting down when playing new games

Im having the same problem with Borderlands 3, its on a open shelf and a fan near by the help with ventaltion but still shuts down ...!

This is a known issue with Borderlands 3 (and other games like Call of Duty).

Also: Is your console enrolled in the Insider Preview Program? If so, please send feedback right after your console has crashed, in order to help pinpoint the issue.

Some people had some luck changing Borderland 3's graphics to "Performance" on the Xbox One X to get rid of the crashing.

The crashing with Borderlands 3 and Modern Warfare is a known issue for Activision and Gearbox.

You can look at
currently known issues with Modern Warfare here, where it mentions the crashing on Xbox One X (approximately in the middle of the table). Activision is already working on a fix.

People that submitted a
support ticket to 2K Games got a response that they are also investigating this crashing issue. You can (and should) also report your crashing, so they can gather more information on what might cause these crashes.

Same problem has been happening to me, ever since Borderlands 3 came out, almost all game I have played have shutdown my console, it is not hot because it's been in the same spot I have had it in since I got it and it never shutdown before Borderlands
3 only froze the games, I feel like and xbox update may be the cause of this as it has happened to many of my friends too

You could try and using a hoover, try to suck out any dust in the sides and back and front of it, i did this and mine is running loads better, as it was noisy before, now its a lot better, pretty much silent.
