Xbox One X keeps disconnecting with WiFi

Hello,

I have a brand new Xbox One X and I'm having a super annoying problem with its connectivity.

It seems the console disconnects randomly from the WiFi and that makes playing on Xbox Live impossible and very annoying.

The router is a very expensive ASUS router, it's on 5Ghz, signal strength is 100% because they are in the same room and no other device in my house experiences this. My Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4 all connect rock solid via WiFi, but the Xbox One X is giving
me problems.

Any ideas?

Xbox one s connection problems

My xbox one s keeps disconnecting from wifi but it works most of the time. It's not the wifi or router because everything else connected works.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has problems with the Xbox One X constantly disconnecting from wifi and frequently lagging. I have reset the wifi, the xbox, opened all ports, and tried everything recommended. What is there to do about this?

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this to see if it helps.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Thank you for the tip, I have tried this and as soon as I have time to have an online session of at least 2 hours I'll update this thread.

 

I have the same problem. While playing with my xbox one x, wired connection, I randomly get disconnected from xbox live for about 5 seconds, just enough to kick me out of any online session, then I have to rejoin session and explain my teammates I got
disconnected. It happens very random, but constantly enough to bother me. I did a factory reset, and it seem to have fix it for a while, I'll say it was fix for about 3 weeks. Then yesterday it started doing the same problem again.

 

Since the router is in the same room as the console, can you just for testing purposes try to connect the console via ethernet cord?

Do the disconnects still happen via Ethernet?

If the console only disconnects through WiFi, Microsoft is investigating those reports when the console disconnects wirelessly, if it's a console issue, or "just" outside interference (for example other wireless devices disturbing your WiFi signal).

Whenever the console disconnects, hold the Xbox button on the controller, as if you were trying to turn off the console.

Then use feedback button, to send feedback about the disconnect.

The console will then gather diagnostic information and send that in along with the report.

The more people send feedback whenever that happens, the more reliably Xbox can find out if it's a console issue or what else could be done to resolve it.

 

I have the same issue and it looks like a few people do. I think microsoft has a software or hardware issue. It really is annoying, especially if it isnt corrected even returning your xbox for a new one wouldnt help.

 

I have the same issues its shocking the xbox one x. None of my other devices have the issue either i have an older xbox one that i reconnected in the same room as the x no issues at all, go back to the x and it always disconnects. Its driving me mad the
hard reset hasnt fixed a thing.

 

I have the same problem wired... It was so bad when I first got my One X that I took it back and got another one (after I had the internet company come out and make sure the internet was all good even though all other devices worked fine)... The 2nd One
X did the same thing but not as bad and then for a while it would only do it once on the first game I would play after turning it on. Then for a few weeks it stopped doing it but now the past couple days it disconnects EVERY SINGLE GAME!!! I cant even play
anything its so frustrating... I have tried everything, including the hard reset, changing settings in the router, putting the xbox in the dmz, forwarding ports and nothing works. I almost considering downgrading back to a One S but so many of these games
now run so much better on the X. Microsoft needs to fix this sooner than later or I am about to trade this thing for a PS4, I play games way too often to be dealing with this crap....

 

Any fixes yet? I am about ready to swich to Playstation as well. I have an xbox 360 that still works. and 2 xbox ones.. only one of them doesn't work and I have never been so frustrated in my life.

 

I HAVE this SAME issue. Its driving me up the wall. I get kicked out of games within about 10 minutes which is extremely frustrating. I get kicked off all of my applications including movie applications. I have a brand new Xbox One S (for about 2 months
now) this started a few weeks ago, its sporadic but yet consistent with every session. I have my older Xbox One S in my bedroom (about 8 months old) no issues whatsoever. I have troubleshooted the heck out of things, hard resets, soft boots. THIS is annoying
as all get out. I am tempted to go back to PlayStation which I have been off of for 8 years now because at least their products (my PS3) still works anytime. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Huge Microsoft Xbox fan on her last limb.

 

I hae two Xboxs, one X in one room and one S is another room. While playing with S I am right now constantly logged out from Xbox Live and interrupted from my game, and therefore losing my game progress, because at times the games fail to restore my previous
seasion. I am not even playing an online game. This is becoming extremely annoying and frustrating that I can't play games properly that I've bought at the market place. It disconnects and it says I don't have the license, then one second later it connects
again, and then I can, until I am interrupted again. I have an expensive router that works fine with all of my other computers, phones, etc. It's just the Xbox that keeps on behaving like this. It can't be normal. And it is driving me insane.

 

I have the same issue. I bought my One X three months ago, and this started happening a little over a month ago. Seems to happen during an online multiplayer match on BF1 more than any other game. Sometimes I can even tell when it's about to disconnect
once the fan becomes a little louder than usual. I've talked to three different people from Microsoft Support, and we went through several troubleshooting options. NONE worked. Brought my old 2013 model Xbox One back from the dead, and it works fine. Really
starting to lean on the repair option, but did anyone else's Xbox One X have this issue before the August update? I think that's when mine started.
