Xbox One X keeps disconnecting from internet over Ethernet in “instant on” mode

I understand there has been another thread regarding this issue
here however I strongly disagree with the solution. The issue is several Xbox One Xs keep losing internet connectivity (using ethernet) when entering sleep/off in “instant on” mode only to be remedied by a full restart - the issue doesn’t occur every time
its turned off and on but once every 2-3 times. This issue has been going on for at least 8 months with several hundred views on the other thread indicating this issue is not very rare. I feel this is a clear bug though turning on “energy saving” mode stops
the issue it isn’t what I’d call a fix because it removes many important features. All do respect, I just don’t believe getting rid of auto updates (they’re large) resulting in hours of waiting and disabling instant return to games is acceptable. I believe
most of us with this issue would like to see this bug added to the list of known issues to be resolved.

Are you in the Insider Program?
Have you done a
Factory Reset - Remove everything?

It’s true the router/switch it is connected to may cause the issue but I cant imagine it being the isp. The issue doesn’t occur over wifi

Hi Quantum,

Thanks for the updates on your issue. We recommend to try the full factory reset as Crystal stated. This will repair any OS files if that is the issue. Most times disconnects are network related, either it be your router/modem or outside issues such as traffic,
weather ISP issues. If you can try rebooting all network hardware in the house. As ISP do updates this can connectivity issues. Personally have 3 X all connected ethernet and instant on and they do not have this issue.

Well, in fact, I had that same problem with my console but the only way I could overcome that problem was changing my internet service provider, since the console when changing the service stopped disconnecting

Thanks for the quick response! I do not have beta/preview software if that is what you are wondering, I may be an insider member though don’t recall.

I have not attempted a FULL reformat recently though have a while back. I was planning to do it tomorrow.
