Xbox One X Is Gonna Be Cheaper Than Most Shoes! Only $499.99!

I think £450 is a damn good price for this powerful hardware. I'm thinking of building a new PC soon, and even when using some of my current components, it's still going to cost upwards of £900 to get 4K visuals with a locked 60FPS. If I was to build my
new PC with everything new, it would be £1200! Well, to the spec I want it anyway.

Compared to that, £450 is a bargain.

Although, I do own a 4K TV, I have seen what Super-sampling can do to imitate a 4K image on a 1080 display, and I'm telling you, you won't be wasting your time if you don't have a 4K TV. The graphics will still look a lot better than a standard Xbox One.
Of course, 4K is the way to go if you want the best, but it's not a required straight away.

Seriously? You thought Ashen was a "wow" moment? You can't even see their faces! That's just lazy coding. Sure, it might be stylish but it's hardly a selling point. Kinda like how Tacoma is being touted as one of our platform "exclusives", but after strong
sci-fi outings from Mass Effect Andromeda and Prey, Tacoma kinda looks like it was pared back - less stylish, less moneyed. Them's the breaks, and I wholly understand that looks ain't everything, but in a crowded market...

Anthem would've carried more weight had it been a MICROSOFT EXCLUSIVE, but nope, there it is - a multiplat for everybody! Why come to Xbox if you're already drowning in a sea of riches elsewhere? Congrats on upgrading to 4K! Someday soon I might be tempted
to join you - but I'm more eager for UHD movies than checkerboarded games. Wonder Woman in 4K? Now we're talking!

Gordon Freeman in Half Life has no voice,how lazy is that? Those games must be terrible.

 

Nice riposte, Badger, but everybody knows that Master Chief is the *everyman* - he does in fact have a face, and that face mirrors the human race. Additionally, you actually *do* see his eyes in a climactic moment, so you know he's HUMAN and not just a dead
cipher. It's perfectly fine to remain mute in a videogame - as in real life, actions speak louder than words. #DrollNotDroll

 

I don't think Ashen not having faces is lazy coding. Besides, I thought the movement of the characters and enemies looked great. I rarely get attached to the main character so I couldn't care less if they have faces or voices.

The game reminded me of Inside for some reason and I love that game. Ashen is now my most anticipated game.

 

It's on the top of my list, can't wait until I can pre-order it. It's not available for pre-order in Netherlands yet probably because there wasn't an EU price announced, they did say launch worldwide though. Hope it won't turn out like the Xbox One launch
, else I'll have to wait longer. Have my money ready to spend on it, also planning to save up for a nice 4K HDR TV that I'll try to buy around the time Xbox One X launches, any advice on a good 4K HDR TV is appreciated . I'm happy both Sony and Xbox are
pushing 4K which IMO is great for games in the future because like the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 it's time to take that next step, on to 4K. PCs are awesome but 500$ for a small box that has enough power to provide a decent 4K experience? that's just amazing.

 

That is what I've been paying particular attention to. They claim to have been making sure those who haven't upgraded from 1080p will still see visual improvements. Not to mention that if the "all games will have 4k @ 60fps" claim holds true, then it'll
have no problem running 60 fps at 1080p. I may not be getting the console "Day 1" (but even that depends on what I hear between now and that time), but I don't see why it'd be a turn off for me just because I don't have a 4k TV yet. If I could get both at
the same time I would, but that's not in the budget.

My S is only about a year old, but my wife plays on my 'day 13' console. The way I see it, the older One can retire and the X can replace it. The price of 4k TVs will be down soon enough afterward. Justification enough for me.

 

1080p/60fps on Scorpio,not so sure.

From my understanding,Destiny 2 on Scorpio will run at 30 fps (whatever the resolution).

It's not really a question of horsepower but more a devs choice.

And it's not sure if devs/publishers wants to use extra time and money to reach Scorpio limits.Also,devs aren't suppose to use Scorpio power to do other things than resolution (and since a few weeks ago frame rates)

Still don't understand why Team Xbox didn't announced Scorpio as a "next gen" backward compatible console,to give more freedom to the devs.

Usually consoles hardware are use for everything (content,AI,animation,ect),not just for resolution and frame rates.

 

An interview with Spencer after the E3 presentation revealed that he is not going to force 3rd party devs to meet specific visual benchmarks. He thinks devs should be allowed the free limits of their creativity (and/or laziness) and let the consumer decide
if the product is worthy. However, he did say that first party (MS) devs will be using the full power of the console.

 

But only for resolution and frame rates.

Never heard Phil Spencer saying that 3rd parties or 1st parties can double the map size or create more content or add better AI,ect...on Scorpio,if they want to.

 

He said it in an interview on xbox daily.

They are letting the devs have free reign to create the games how they want & not forcing them to do such & such just because of what the xbox one x is capable of.

So devs can release a game on Scorpio and do whatever they want ?

Larger map,better AI,more content or just release the game on Scorpio,without being hold back by Xbox one and Xbox one S.

If its true,i'm fine with that but their message isn't really clear.(and change every 5 minutes).

 

let's take Ark as and example. That Dev said he will be using the power in X1X to make the game 1080p/60 with epic settings something he says he cannot do on PSPro which will be only 1080p/30 and not so epic settings.

So far, i guess it will be similar to what we got on Xbox one.

Xbox one can do native 1080p at 60 fps (or 30 fps) but only on few games.

....

But my question (if devs got total freedom) is more about things like gameplay,content,AI,ect... and not only resolution/frame rates.
