    Xbox One X Ignoring 360 Discs


    So I’ve basically been unable to play any of my physical Xbox 360 games o my Xbox One X for the past month or so. The console acts as if there’s nothing in the drive even though the disc for whatever game I’m trying to play is. Trying to fix it, I uninstalled
    Halo 3 (and basically the rest of them) to see if it would let me re-install any of them. It will not. Now, I can’t even get the prompt to download the update to play the game. (I’ve tried for L4D2 and Halo 3, each to no avail.)

    I do realize that the disc is mostly there for verification that I own the game in some way, but like I said it’s like the Xbox doesn’t even try to read the disc at all. (It’ll make a few noises, then usually will go silence but occasionally will make a
    couple every few seconds like it’s trying to do something.) (I used to be able to just use my phone’s hotspot for a view minutes to make a connection to XBL and then it’d all work fine, even offline.)

    If it’s at all possible that the problem is that 360 discs are DVDs and it’s just rejecting DVDs, I suppose sending it in while it’s under warranty is the only option. (because it does run all digital games and Xbox One discs) I’d appreciate any tips to
    try and fix it before sending it in, otherwise, I guess I’m just gonna have to bite that bullet and wait. (And yes, I’ve hard reset several times, in both power modes, both unplugging the power and not)

    Could really use some tips here, thanks in advance.

    Can play the 1st ver. xbox disc on the new xbox one s?

    Hello dear,

    I have a 1st ver. xbox machine (not xbox 360 or xbox one) several years ago. And I bought some discs for it.

    Now I want to buy a new xbox one s or x, May I play the old discs on the new machine?

    when installing a 360 game from disc you need to be online. if hard resets didn't work I believe you should send the xbox in.

    Was online and hard resets never did work. Neither did the troubleshooting Xbox’s chat support suggested.

    Probably gonna send it in today.
