Xbox One X HDR10 and YCBCR 4:2:2 problem on Samung MU7000 4k TV

My Xbox One X have some problem, when i play game and i activate YCBCR 4:2:2, I click on my game and then i lost the HDMI connection... I don't have this problem with my PS4 pro or PC with HDR seetings on.

When I uncheck the YCBCR 4:2:2 option, it's working.

It's been maybe 1 year and a half that i got this problem. In the pass, i didn't have this problem since a Xbox One update...

Please Microsoft do something because I talk to Samsung and they said to me that the problem was on your side!

Get in mind that my PS4 Pro and PC on HRD10 and YCBCR 4:2:2 is working!

Other info : The 4k option is activated on my Samsung TV so that's not the problem.

    :)

    Samsung HDR tv

Dashes mean that the sampling for those color schemes are not available. The zeros are equivalent of checkmarks, that in this color scheme, sampling is available. And with UHD Color setting turned on, the 10-bit and 12-bit sampling for color depths YCbCr
4:2:2 and YCbCr 4:2:0 are available. Xbox One S supports all of the color depths. And 10-bit sampling is the equivalent of HDR10. So as long as you turn UHD Color on the TV, you will get HDR color support with this TV set.

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 5040UB with Denon S720W having issues with 4k

    Hi all,

I am very confused. My Projector says it supports 4k HDR10 and so does my reciever. However, when I go to display settings 4k detail it says my TV setup doesn't support 4k 10-bit at 50hz, TV setup doesn't support 4k 10-bit at 60hz, TV setup doesn't support
Dobly Vision, TV setup doesn't support HDR10 for gaming, and TV setup doesn't support HDR10 for video capture.

But it supports HDR10 for video and 4k 10-bit at 24HZ as well as 4k UHD (60Hz). Yet when I call the companies that make my reciever and projector they say it does indeed support HDR10. Also when I look at the Signal output, it says the color depth is 8-bit
4:2:0, the people at Epson said the Xbox should be output 4:2:2. Anyone know what I need to do so my Xbox and project give me the support it is suppose to? The color format is also showing up as BT.709 But if I switch to my 4k fireTv it says the color format
is BT.2020 HDR. I also tried plugging my projector directly into the xbox, bypassing the reciever and still get the same data from the 4k details screen. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

Atmos Delay fix (worked for me, at least) and audio detection issues

    Hi Geri,

As I noted above, my ongoing issue is not with with Atmos delay. I was able to resolve the audio delay issue by using the QN85B's menu settings.

On all three of my Samsung TVs, specifically found in Settings > Sound > Expert Settings there is an option that controls Audio Sync delay which actually allows you to reduce the reduce the delay to a value below 0 ms which completely resolves the delay in Atmos sync for me, whether 4k 120 is enabled on the xbox or not.

The issue I cannot resolve is the failed Audio Output Capability detection on the Xbox.

I detailed the answers to b

Your other questions above, but for the sake of clarity, all my cables are certified HDMI 2.1 48 gbps (1 Microsoft Series X OEM cable and 1 Atrix 8K/4K Ultra High speed cable which which carried the certified label on box and allows 4k 120 signal pass from Xbox to TV with no issue, i have tested to check).

Regarding my devices Settings and capabilities, Xbox and TV are both are both properly configured, HOWEVER the soundbar (Samsung HW-Q700A), is advertised as having HDMI 2.1 ports actually has HDMI 2.0b ports installed. Below is an excerpt from the Soundbar's manual detailing HDMI compatibility of the device:

    "Supported UHD Signals Specification (3840 x 2160p)

    Frame rate (fps) 60 hz , Color depth 8 bit - RGB 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, YCbCr 4:2:0

    10 bit - YCbCr 4:2:2, YCbCr 4:2:0

    12 bit - YCbCr 4:2:2, YCbCr 4:2:0

    no 120hz support.

*Supported specification may vary depending on the connected external device or usage conditions."

All that said, I don't think contacting Dolby will resolve. The issue is with the EDID ident container passed along the eARC handshake from the soundbars to the TVs and out to the Xbox via CEC. Whether connecting HDMI, Optical or WiFi from soundbar to TV, the soundbar EDID information is not carried through in the eARC handshake OR it is bundled with the HDCP container and for whatever reason the Samsung TVs I have tested on try to step the HDCP pass down to 2.1 spec with is not compatible with HDCP 2.2 or 2.3 and so it breaks the eARC handshake. On further investigation, I discovered that the soundbar shows eARC as active on the physical display, but lists ARC as the connection type when viewing from Smart Things interface for the device.

And to note again, when I set the xbox display detect setting to manual HDMI, I lose 4k and HDR but I gain all Audio output detection settings in line with the soundbar's capabilities, but I know that this is a known issue with Xbox Series X. Just switching to 4k 60 on the Xbox does not correct this issue. Disabling game mode on the TV corrects PARTIALLY and allows 5.1 uncompressed detection, but in doing so, I lose Auto HDR QMS initiation on the TV. I have called Samsung support and they are of no assistance.
