    XBOX ONE X HDR look dark and blurry with "TCL 55P605" TV ?


    I just brought the TCL 55P605 and I can't figure out if there is something wrong with the TV or ONEX with HDR. The 4K look awesome until I enabled HDR on my ONEX from the setting.

    Everytime I enable HDR on ONEX, the color turned dull/dark and the texture seem blurry when I am playing RISE OF TOMBR. I thought HDR were suppose to have wider and crispier color. I tried your setting in this video but I still have same result. So I am
    not sure if this is normal OR if my TV is defective.

    It just seem like a downgrade when I enable HDR on XBOX ONE X. Is anyone playing RISE OF TOMB RAIDER experiencing the same thing with this TCL TV ?

    Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

    Having the same issues as well with my brand new Xbox One X and TCL 55P605. Very disappointed to see so many others having the issue and no acknowledgement from Microsoft.

    Using a computer monitor instead of a television

    I cant see why not, but also cant see why you would want to. Honestly, I would say go for the gold and grab yourself a 50" TCL 4k HDR tv on Amazon. Its a little over $300 and its amazing, I use it with my XBox One X and everything looks spectacular.

    The TCL website has some instructions on how to configure your TV to let the Xbox One X fully utilize 4K: TCL | America’s Fastest Growing TV Brand

    Verify that your TV is capable of HDR by going to the Xbox One X display settings and open "4K TV details".

    In the Xbox One X display settings, ensure you have "color depth" set to at least "30 bits per pixel (10-bit)" to enable HDR.

    You need to upgrade to a better tv with more robust HDR capabilities in my opinion TCL is ok but for Xbox One X I think it must be a more capable tv than that...

    Series S bad HDR on a 4K TV

    Sorry for the late reply. I have my Series S hooked up to my Fire TV in the bedroom and my X hooked up to a TCL S4 series in the living room. Neither one is idea for HDR content. At least not with the Xboxes. I tried my hand with an high end LG TV to see what HDR would look like and while some games looked better than others it was still a mixed bag. Some games will just look awful with HDR on regardless of what TV your playing off of. I really would like to do tests with a PS5 to see if I get similar results.
