XBOX ONE X HDMI port stopped working again

For a faster repair solution (and to avoid worrying about getting back a still-broken Xbox), you can do the "Advanced Exchange" program to get your defective Xbox exchanged for a refurbished, working Xbox. This will place a hold on your credit card (for
as much as the One X costs, afaik) which will be released once Microsoft receives your defective console.

I had the same issue in March, which was obviously a defect in the HDMI output. After sending the XBox One X in for repair it came back 4 weeks later working again.

Last Saturday the same happened again... :-(

Seems to be a real poor quality of the HDMI Port or internal connection...

Faulty HDMI ports are not as rare as you might think. I work in IT and see a lot of the ports becoming faulty on PC's and laptops. It might also be worth checking out your TV/monitor for faulty ports.

My Xbox One X HDMI port works fine but it has caused a fault on two of my TV ports. They no longer push out 4K but work for 1080p.

Not all TV's support HDR on all HDMI connections.

On my Sony Bravia 4K TV, only two out of the four support HDR even though they all support 4K resolution.

This could very well be the issue,

I have a Samsung 4K HDR TV, with 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, but only one of my port's supports HDR, ( HDMI 1 ),

If i want to use to my PS4pro with HDR, i have it in HDMI 1, but then if i want to use my Xbox One X with HDR, i have to swap my HDMI cable's around, so that my Xbox One X is now in HDMI 1,

Best check the TV's manual to find out which HDMI port uses HDR,

Or try connect the Xbox One X into the HDMI port where you're PS4pro is, and see if HDR then works.

It's very odd.

Make sure to plug the cable in the HDMI port closer to the power port. Remember than one is HDMI OUT and the other is HDMI IN. I'm quite sure you already know this, but it is worth mentioning.

Make sure to use the provided HDMI cable or a HDMI 2.0 compatible cable that supports 4K @ 60Hz. Other cables may not work because they need a bigger bandwidth.

Try doing a power cycle by removing the Xbox One X power cable from the console for 15 seconds and then turning it on again.
