Xbox One X HDMI Failure / IT HAPPENED AGAIN UPDATE

Well as my previous thread was locked before I could add an update to the repair, I'll have to create a new thread just to post the update. It is an odd one though, yet I somewhat predicted it in my previous thread.

As I mentioned, I went to Currys to ask about my Xbox One X as it has been 3 weeks since I left it with them. So I asked if they knew anything or had any updates.

The guy at the customer services then asked me "Is it a black Xbox One X with a sticker...?" to which I interrupted with "Yes, a Gamers of Republic sticker" ...he then knew what I was talking about.

The reason why I hadn't received a call was because they didn't know who it belonged to, as the serial number on my paperwork didn't match the serial on the console. The reason for this was because they replaced the entire console, rather than trying to
fix it for a second time, so MY original serial number on record was no longer correct, as it were.

And because Microsoft don't go into details about what they did, such as say "Console replaced, new serial number xxxxxxx" the staff at Currys didn't know who it belonged to. So when I asked, they eventually knew whose it was. Plus, the sticker also helped
to identify mine, lol.

On top of that, they actually returned the TOP cover of my console, witch had the sticker on it. Good thing they did, otherwise it might have been harder to ID my console. On the other hand, they only had two Xbox consoles out for repair, a white Xbox One
S and my black Xbox One X so it wasn't hard to realise that the X was mine.

Good thing I went it and asked, otherwise I'd still be waiting. Of course, if Microsoft included a more detailed service report, it might have helped a lot more. Still need to connect it up though. But it is now back in my hands, which is good!
