    Xbox One X - HDMI Broken?


    I have had my Xbox One X since March and never had any issues with it. Yesterday I finally upgraded to a 4K tv so I could fully enjoy the console, but after about 30 mins of the new tv the screen flickered and then went blank. Now when connecting the Xbox
    to any TV it just comes up with 'no signal detected'.

    I have rebooted the device in low quality mode, tried to do the factory reset with a USB, tried different HDMI cables, tried the console on the regular TV I was using previously but nothing has worked. My warranty expired in October so Microsoft wants to
    charge me 250 to get it repaired, but at that stage I would be as well buying a new console or trying to get a hold of the Series X.

    I've seen around online this is the 'black screen of death' but I'm wondering if it could be down to connecting to the 4k TV or if anyone has experienced issues like this. It just seems strangely coincidental that the day I plug in to a 4K monitor, the HDMI
    port goes bust too.

    HDMi ports are not user serviceable and require specialized training and equipment.

    Variable Refresh Rate greyed out with a AMD compatible Monitor (HP 27xq AMD FreeSync monitor)

    The Xbox One X is the only console that has HDMI 2.1. Xbox One S has HDMI 2.0.
    The Xbox One S and One X both use HDMI 2.0,

    The Xbox One uses HDMI 1.4

    The Series X will have HDMI 2.1.

    The Xbox One S 4K Blu-Ray Player Is A Disaster...Good Job!!

    There are a number of AV issues with the Xbox One S/X and UHD Blu-ray playback, your guess is as good as mine if they will be fixed.

    Certain UHD titles are broken and will not play.

    Dolby Atmos is unreliable.

    4K AV receiver HDMI handshaking issues.

    Image quality issues, the wrong color matrix being used in Blu-ray playback (see review comparison

    in link    ).

    They could have broken something on the One S in their rush to fix the broken Blu-ray HDR on the One X with the 10.0.16299.4037 that includes said HDR fix.
